Justin Assada is opening up about his sexuality at the Southern Hospitality season four reunion after being accused of “queer-baiting” on the show.
After suggesting he was “30 percent gay,” the 29-year-old series newbie, who is currently dating Southern Charm cast member Charley Manley, 28, is seen in a sneak peek at the June 10 episode in which he explains his sexuality and discusses the impact it’s had on his romance.
“I’m comfortable in my sexuality. That’s the bottom line. To get serious about the matter is that I objectively like what I like. Now, have I exclusively been with women? Absolutely. If there was a guy, a sweeping fellow that came and took me off my feet and was perfect in every way, then I would not have any hesitation moving forward with it. It’s sexuality. It’s fluid,” Justin shares. “That’s just me.”
According to Justin, being in Charleston is “tough,” and he sympathizes with people like TJ Dinch, 35, Lake Rucker, 23, Michols Peña, 23, and other members of the LGBTQ community.
As for how his sexuality has become a factor in his relationship with Charley, whom he reportedly began seeing in September 2025, Justin says that questions have arisen.
“It is like, a tough spot and like, I feel like I’ve had to answer to it,” he reveals. “And even in my relationship with Charley now, it’s just like, it shouldn’t be that big of a deal.”
