Brandi Glanville is undergoing surgery on Friday after years of struggles with what she’s described as a facial parasite — and medical bills in the six figures.
On Thursday’s episode of her podcast, the 53-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum discussed the “intensive” procedure as she explained what her surgeon would be doing and admitted to being fearful about going under the knife.
“Dr. Carlo Henrado is taking my face off on Friday and going to do an exploratory surgery to kind of do a power wash under my skin, and then he knows where there are two definite spots, like, either fungal balls or something alive,” Brandi revealed on the October 22 episode of Brandi Glanville Unfiltered. “I think it’s alive, personally, because it moves when it wants to.”
After Brandi’s co-host asked if the doctor would be peeling back her face, Brandi explained, “He just cuts it out.”
She then said that Dr. Henrado “comes highly recommended” and would be charging her just $5,000 for the procedure (the rest will be covered by her insurance).
“I’m okay with that,” Brandi stated.
Looking back, Brandi said that her facial issue began in her face, cheek, and jawbone before traveling over her head, back to her neck, and down her spine.
“He’s like, ‘If I can cut the head off the beast, the snake, then the other stuff we’ll be able to get,’” Brandi revealed of her doctor.
“I’ve never had facial surgery, so I’m super excited, but I’m scared to death because, like, this girl I know just had a facelift, and it’s not a facelift, but he said it’s more intensive than a facelift because he’s like, literally going in there with a power washer basically and knives and all this sh*t, and then he’s spinning my blood and doing this platelet thing on the inside of my face after he washes it,” she continued.
Also on her podcast episode, Brandi said that she did not have double ear infections, as she previously suspected.
“I just have chronic fluid in my ears from other infections in my face that are trapped because nothing can get out of my glands and whatever is living down here,” she clarified.

News of Brandi’s surgery comes just weeks after her friend, Gina Rodriguez, set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the costs of her mounting medical bills.
“For the past three years, RHOBH Alum, Brandi Glanville has been fighting an illness that has completely changed her life. She has gone from doctor to doctor searching for answers while her health continued to decline. Now, after years of uncertainty, she finally has diagnoses and a treatment plan, but the road ahead is long, painful and incredibly expensive,” Gina explained at the time.
In the weeks that followed, Brandi received financial support from a number of Real Housewives, including Kyle Richards, 57, Eileen Davidson, 67, Camille Grammer, 58, Vicki Gunvalson, 64, and Heather Gay, 52.
As of this writing, the campaign has raised $23,585 of its $28,000 goal.
Brandi Glanville was featured in a full-time role on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills from season three through season five.
