In today’s shocking news, Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd announced she is divorcing her husband Michael Dodd following 11 years or marriage!
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Kelly, 42, reveals they are both miserable in their marriage and that she wants out.
“Our marriage is over, I’m out of there!” said Kelly in an interview published today. “We’ve had problems for years and I’ve had enough. I’m done with our marriage. It’s just a case where two people can’t get along. It’s best if we went our separate ways and concentrate on our daughter.”
“We aren’t good together,” continued Kelly. “Maybe we’ll be better to each other when we are divorced and are friends. But right now we are both miserable and it’s not good for either one of us, let alone our daughter. Over the past several years we’ve had our ups and downs, and lately it’s been mostly downs.”
This news comes a week after a report came out that cops had been called to the Dodds’ home 11 times alone this year. At first Kelly posted on her social media page that the report was a lie but then deleted that post. It appears there was turmoil in their marriage indeed.
In fact, Kelly previously filed for divorce from Michael in 2012. The couple reconciled but separated again in 2014 after Kelly was arrested for domestic violence against Michael, and he was granted a restraining order against her. She was required to attend 10 Alcoholic Anonymous meetings and six months of therapy.
“I want out of my marriage as soon as possible,” Kelly added. “We can figure out the financials of our divorce down the road.”
Michael and Kelly have an 11-year-old daughter Jolie.
