It’s been two weeks now since LuAnn de Lesseps got arrested during a drunken night out, and her Real Housewives of New York City costars have remained mum on the arrest… that is until now.
Luann’s costars including, Bethenny Frankel and Sonja Morgan, are now speaking out on their costar’s shocking arrest.
E! News caught up with the ladies during an event for Bethenny to launch her new Skinnygirl Jeans line. It appears the event was filmed for the upcoming season of RHONY which would explain why other RHONY ladies were also in attendance.
First Bethenny revealed that she’s “been texting” Luann, adding, “She’s taking care of herself. She said she’s in a good place, so you know like I said, we all have our flaws. Luann’s no different.”
She added, “We all have high points, low points, times we feel confident, times we feel less confident and so… but I’m sorry she’s not here.”
Sonja also chimed in to offer words of support to Luann who announced she would be heading to rehab.
“She’s doing the right thing,” said Sonja. “She is taking care of herself for her children and for her family. Listen, it can happen to anyone. It happens to a lot of people just most people don’t get caught.”
And in true Sonja fashion, she attempts to offer up a defense for her pal Luann! Sonja stated: “It’s a fish bowl in Palm Beach and when you’re tall like Luann, and you have that voice, you’re going to be spotted.” Sorry Sonja but it’s safe to say this had little to do with Luann’s height!
Dorinda Medley who admitted she hasn’t been able to “talk to her much because she’s kind of doing her own thing,” offered some words of encouragement. “We have all been there. By the grace of God, we’ve all been there where you have the aha moment were you’re like, ‘This is it,'” added Dorinda.
Nice of the RHONY ladies to offer kind words to their castmate. As reported, Luann is due back in court on January 25 to face charges of battery on a cop, resisting arrest with violence, and disorderly intoxication.
