The Bachelor star Arie Luyendyk Jr shocked the entire nation when he dumped the woman he proposed to – Becca Kurfin so that he could date his runner-up Lauren Burnham.
While ABC is just airing the shocking aftermath of Arie’s season, it’s actually been two months now since he dumped Becca for Lauren in real time. Which brings us to two major questions – did Lauren take Arie back? And if she did, are Arie and Lauren still together today? Well, we have those answers for you below with this Bachelor update!
According to Reality Steve, yes Lauren took Arie back after he dumped Becca so that he could date her. And yes, Arie and Lauren are still together!
First, RS reveals that Becca and Arie were still together as of the New Year and actually rang in the New Year together in New York City. However, on January 1st (the same night Arie’s season of the Bachelor premiered on ABC), Arie started having second thoughts about Becca and decided to call Lauren.
Lauren reportedly did not shut Arie down and made it clear to him that she was open to giving their relationship another shot. And then on January 16, Arie showed up in Virginia to see Lauren and her parents.
The worst part of this all is the fact that Becca was completely blindsided by the break up. RS reveals that around January 12, Becca and Arie were supposed to meet up in secret for one of their secret dates. However, Becca had no idea Arie was planning to break up with her that weekend… with ABC cameras in tow. Ouch.
And on January 14 and 15, Becca made the following posts to her Instagram stories signifying her heartbreak. She first posted a photo with her cat with the caption, “At least she still loves me.” A day later, she shared a photo of some dead flowers with the caption, “mood.”

On January 16, Arie headed up to Virginia to film with Lauren and they have been together ever since.
And then during the March 6 after the rose tell all, Arie proposed to Lauren in front of a live studio audience and she said yes! She also revealed she is planning to move to Arizona to live with Arie.
So there you have it folks! Arie and Lauren are still together, engaged, and moving in together very soon.

Fortunately for Arie, he is in good company as he is not the first Bachelor to do such a thing. Back in 2009, former Bachelor Jason Mesnick did the same when he dumped his final pick and fiance Melissa Rycroft and started dating his runner up Molly.
