The cast of The Real Housewives of New Jersey has stripped off their makeup for People magazine’s upcoming Beautiful Issue.
Ahead of the highly-anticipated issue’s release on April 18, the magazine shared a number of photos of the series’ stars, including Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Dolores Catania, and Margaret Josephs, and allowed them to share details about their thoughts on beauty and their daily regimens.
Teresa Giudice
Teresa enjoys going makeup free because it is “liberating.”
“If you see me running around the town where I live or going to the gym, I am almost always makeup-free,” she told People. “Plus its good to give your skin a break once and a while.”
Teresa also spoke of her body, explaining that while she loves to play up her boobs when out on the town because they “get the most attention,” she’s a bit self-conscious when it comes to her stomach. That said, she does what she can to stay toned and healthy.
“I would say watching my diet a little closer and doing more cardio has definitely helped. So has yoga and drinking a lot of water throughout the day,” she explained.
Melissa Gorga
“I tend to feel the most beautiful when I just got out of the shower, hair up in a bun and just some moisturizer on. I feel fresh, clean and natural,” Melissa said of her makeup free look.
While Melissa prefers to stay clean and fresh, she likes to accentuate her cheekbones when applying makeup and prefers her lips injected with filler to add volume. She also revealed details about her beauty routine.
“My beauty routine has definitely changed as I got older,” she admitted. “I was never into sunblock as much as I am now. I literally have guilt run through my body if I’m near the sun without sunblock on my face. I have olive skin so I’m very susceptible to dark spots.”
Dolores Catania
“I feel most beautiful after a day on the beach in the sun with just the right bronze on my face. It makes my eyes look green and my hair all beachy and wavy,” Dolores said. “That’s when I feel most beautiful.”
Admittedly, Dolores said she isn’t the best at doing her makeup herself and typically leaves that up to her glam team. She also leaves her skin in the hands of professionals when it comes to the blemishes she’s faced with.
“I have always had pretty good skin but lately I have had some issues with a couple of blemishes that pop up here and there and I’m not having it!” she said. “I consulted with my dear friend Kristen Hanenian, APRN, AGNP-C she is otherwise known as the skin guru and I have her on speed dial when it comes to cosmetic dermatology. I know she will tell me what I need and she is always right!
Margaret Josephs
Margaret goes makeup free at times but when it comes to her lashes, she’s always rocking extensions and labeled them as her “absolute non-negotiable.” She also swears by eye cream.
As for her main insecurity, Margaret said she’s self-conscious about her legs.
“I wear the highest heels to help keep them looking longer and slimmer at all times!” she explained.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey is currently in production on season nine.
