The Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel’s on-and-off again boyfriend Dennis Shields has died.
According to a new report, Dennis was found dead in his home, at the Trump Tower, at the age of 51.
Page Six is reporting that he passed away from a suspected drug overdose. His body was discovered earlier this morning.
Before he passed away, sources tell the outlet that Dennis asked his assistant to administer Narcan (a medication that reverses opioid drug overdoses) around 9 am, as he believed he was overdosing on prescription pills. Unfortunately, the NYC banker lost consciousness before the medication was able to kick in.
He was pronounced dead shortly afterwards. TMZ adds that cops believe he overdosed on oxycodone.
Dennis, who appeared on this season of RHONY, began dating Bethenny, 47, in 2016. The two have been on-and-off ever since. According to reports, they were still together as of March of this year.
During a May TV appearance on the Steve Harvey Show, Bethenny opened up about her relationship with Dennis.
“I’ve been with someone on and off for years,” she shared. “It’s like a partnership where if we’re not being teammates and it’s not working and one man is down, then the other man is down. We’re trying to really kind of be good partners and be good teammates and I think relationships oddly are — and this sounds cold — but a little bit like business. If both people aren’t happy about it but slightly uncomfortable and giving up something or giving in [to] something, it doesn’t work. So both partners have to say, ‘All right, I’m in it for this.’ ”
So far, Bethenny has yet to comment on the sad passing of her former boyfriend.
