Vicki Gunvalson Has Been Demoted to a 'Friend' On RHOC

We have some major breaking news to report today as it is being alleged that Vicki Gunvalson has been demoted to a “friend” on the upcoming season of the Real Housewives of Orange County.

Flipping Out star Jeff Lewis just reported the news moments ago on his Sirius XM show, Jeff Lewis Live, and even more, Jeff interviewed Kelly Dodd on his show this morning and she seemingly confirmed the demotion as well.

Right away, Jeff opened his show by revealing that there are ‘rumblings’ going around about Vicki’s role being reduced on the RHOC.

“Okay, so we’re going to just jump right into it. I have some breaking Bravo news,” Jeff told his listeners on February 8. “I have a few Housewives friends, and there were some rumors [that] were swirling that Vicki Gunvalson was going to be demoted as a friend on the Real Housewives of Orange County. So, I have Kelly Dodd on the line. I would like to ask her if she knows anything.”

“Well, I cannot confirm nor deny. However, that’s the word on the street,” said Kelly, who wouldn’t be allowed to confirm the news due to her contract if she knew it to be true.

The non-denial from Kelly, who is currently locked in a feud with Vicki, however, seemed tongue-in-cheek, as she later appeared to confirm the demotion.

“So, she’s been demoted. Vicki Gunvalson has been demoted,” stated Jeff, who also has some bad blood with Vicki. “I think the way she’s behaved and the things she has done, she doesn’t deserve our respect. And I’m glad she was demoted.”

Following Jeff’s comment about being “glad” over Vicki’s alleged demotion, Kelly agreed with him saying she was glad as well.

“Obviously I am too,” added Kelly.

The topic then turned to the reasons why Bravo might want to demote Vicki, who has been on the show since its original season. According to Kelly, it probably comes down to money. See, Vicki is the longest-tenured cast member on the show making it all but certain that she would be the highest paid cast member as well.

“If I were NBCUniversal [Bravo’s parent company] or the higher-ups at Bravo, I would cut the bottom line. I wouldn’t be paying that b–ch that much money,” sniped Kelly. “When it comes down to it, she’s not worth that much.”

Jeff then went on to make it clear that Kelly was not his source for this leaked information.

“Just so everybody knows out there, Kelly did not reach out to me with this information. I heard this information and then reached out to Kelly and asked Kelly,” explained Jeff. “I started reading on Twitter that people were talking about it. And then I started texting my Bravo friends cause I had to find out.”

“You heard it from one of my co-workers. We won’t name names,” added Kelly.

The timing of this news lends more credibility to it as Kelly revealed she had just signed her contract for the new season. Additionally, a report came out last week stating that filming was scheduled to start this week for season 14.

Kelly’s feud with Vicki took a turn for the uglier late last year after Vicki accused her of using cocaine during the RHOC reunion. Kelly vehemently denied the claims and gave Bravo an ultimatum, stating she wouldn’t return next season if Vicki did. She did later have a change of heart.
