Sonja Morgan made a rare public appearance with her daughter, 18-year-old Quincy Adams Morgan, last week in New York City.
As the drama between Sonja and her co-stars continues to play out on The Real Housewives of New York City, she and Quincy walked the red carpet together at an event for Entertainment Weekly at the Stonewall Inn on Wednesday, June 5th.
As fans of the series well know, Quincy has never appeared on the show alongside her mother. According to Sonja, that’s due to the fact that the brainiac teen is way too into her school work to entertain a career in reality television. In fact, Quincy hasn’t even seen the show.
“I just don’t think it’s good,” Sonja admitted during an appearance on Sameera Shah’s podcast, Sip with Sam, last November. “I mean I know how to handle it and I’ll handle myself and I chose it. But I don’t think I should drag anyone else into it, especially a young kid.”
Sonja, 54, shares daughter Quincy with her former husband, John Adams Morgan, 88, who she split from in 2006 after nearly 10 years of marriage.
John’s great-grandfather is the founder of J.P. Morgan & Co. and his father is the co-founder of Morgan Stanley.
While Quincy isn’t expected to make any future cameos on RHONY and recently turned down a number of modeling gigs with major brands, she will soon have her hands full. She’s heading to college after nabbing a “near perfect” SAT score.
“She just took her SATs and I, I just don’t even wanna publicize this, but it was a near perfect grade,” Sonja shared. “She really is a scholar.”
During an interview with The Daily Dish in 2016, Sonja revealed a few details about her daughter’s personality, talents, and interests.
“The finance side, she definitely got from [her father]. She is a math wizard. She got that from the J.P. Morgan side,” Sonja said. “But she got the humility from the John Adams side, you know, from John Adams, John Quincy Adams, and I like to think my side of the family has humility and religion.”
“She likes the charity work. Maybe she’ll be a lawyer someday like the Adamses,” she added. “She likes fashion and architecture.”
The Real Housewives of New York City season 11 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo TV.
