Christina Anstead and her estranged husband, Ant Anstead, both shared statements on Instagram in regard to their recent split over the weekend.
After the Flip or Flop star confirmed that she and Ant had parted ways after less than two years of marriage earlier this month, she and Ant surfaced on social media days ago, where she suggested she had jumped into her relationship with Ant in an effort to fill a void and he confirmed that their breakup was not his decision.
In a post shared on Instagram on Saturday, September 26, Christina admitted to being in an unhealthy pattern after first telling her fans and followers that she never wanted to live her life in the spotlight.
“I live in a state of anxiousness and I’m so used to it that when it’s not there I tend to feel a void and hop into something that causes the feeling I’m used to. This can be good and bad. And it’s one of the things I’m working on breaking the pattern of. Sometimes anxiety and pursuit of new dreams leads me down amazing paths, other times it leaves me feeling lost and in a state of fight or flight / or crying in my closet,” Christina wrote, seemingly giving a nod to her and Ant’s whirlwind romance.
“I never thought I would have one divorce let alone two. I never thought I would have 2 baby daddies – but sometimes life throws us curve balls,” she continued.
According to Christina, she refuses to let her patterns and mistakes define her and is instead hoping to inspire others.
“Instead of getting stuck in these ‘setbacks’ I choose to look at these challenges as opportunities to grow. I hope my story inspires you to not be so hard on yourself for the decisions / choices you’ve made. We are all a work in progress,” she concluded.

Christina and Ant got married in December 2018, less than one year after her divorce from ex-husband Tarek El Moussa was finalized, and welcomed son Hudson in September 2019. Then, on September 18 of this year, Christina officially announced the end of her second marriage on Instagram.
Hours after Christina posted her message above, Ant shared a statement of his own in which he made it clear that he did not want their marriage to end.
“Anyone who really knows me knows that I don’t like to share private matters publicly. I have remained silent while holding on to hope. I never gave up on us. I pray Christina’s decision brings her happiness,” he stated.
In addition to the son she shares with Ant, Christina is also mom to daughter Taylor, 10, and son Brayden, 5, who she shares with Tarek.
As for Tarek, he is happily engaged to Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young, who he proposed to over this summer after a year of dating.
