Kelly Dodd explains why Real Housewives of New York City OG Ramona Singer refuses to take photos with her and reveals the two Housewives that producers allegedly can’t stand before sharing if she’ll consider voting for Vicki Gunvalson‘s fiancé, Steve Lodge, for governor.
Though Kelly and Ramona are still friends, it seems there’s one thing the 64-year-old will no longer do for the former Real Housewives of Orange County star, which Kelly revealed on her podcast while discussing social media trolls.
“I went to Aspen and I hung out with Ramona Singer. And rightfully so, she said to me, ‘I don’t wanna take any pictures with you for fear of getting hate,'” she shared on the latest episode of her Unmasked podcast with husband Rick Leventhal. “And I see it now, Shannon [Beador] just posted something for me as a friend, and now she’s got 3,200 [comments]. Shannon Beador only has 200 comments in all her old pictures. She takes a picture for me and she gets 3,200 [mean] comments.”
“Now I see why Ramona doesn’t wanna hang out with me or take pictures of me because she doesn’t wanna be associated with all these haters and cancel culture,” she continued. “It’s absolutely absurd and obnoxious and we need to take a stand.”
And as for how Kelly feels about these haters who have caused her friends to distance themselves from her, she believes they’re all a bunch of “losers” with “low intelligence.”
“I think they’re sad. And I think they’re losers that don’t really have a job or work, and want to live off the government,” she quipped. “That’s what I think because people that work hard, and pay their own way, don’t go on social media and get mad at people because they don’t have time because they’re making money!”
Kelly went on to say she’s confused by how much backlash she receives on social media since there are other Housewives who have done far worse than her, such as Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne and Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s Jen Shah.
“You have people committing wire fraud, you have people stealing from burn victims, you have people stealing from old people [from] Salt Lake City,” she snarked, clearly referring to Erika and Jen.
She then mentioned her former co-star Gina Kirschenheiter‘s past run-in with the law, stating, “You have DUIs like Orange County. You have all these people doing these horrific, bad things against the law, and here I am just wanting people to thrive and do good.”
Elsewhere in the podcast, Rick asked Kelly to further weigh in on Erika’s scandal and the victims she and her estranged husband Thomas Girardi have been accused of stealing from. And before Kelly explained that she would be selling off her expensive jewelry and handbags to give back to the victims if she were in Erika’s position, she dropped a little tea that RHOBH production insiders have supposedly told her about the “Pretty Mess” Singer.
“The consensus is they always tell me that Kyle [Richards] is their favorite,” she spilled. “Dorit [Kemsely] is their second favorite, and I think [Lisa] Rinna is their third. And they tell me that Erika is a b*tch.”
But she wasn’t finished throwing shade at women in the franchise just yet as she also shared what RHOC crew members have allegedly had to say about her nemesis, Heather Dubrow.
“Oh, and the [RHOC] crew by the way, and you can ask Tamra [Judge], Vicki, and everybody else, that Heather Dubrow is very mean to the crew. And the crew will tell you themselves, and I have text messages from my camera people [to prove it].”
Meanwhile, despite Kelly claiming she’s not a “political person,” she and Rick did touch on the California gubernatorial recall election, revealing the surprising person she’s considering voting for.
“I do know Steve Lodge, and I do think Steve Lodge is a good guy,” she admitted. “I know him personally, I like his politics, I think he can shape California into being [a better state].”
She added, “Listen, I don’t get along with Vicki, but Vicki is a good person at heart. She’s a smart woman. I do like Steve Lodge.”
