Kelly Dodd has been a polarizing figure since her first season on Real Housewives of Orange County.
Her blatant honesty is one reason she’s still relevant, even though she was fired from RHOC a year ago.
In an interview for Jeff Lewis’ SiriusXM show, Kelly discussed her strained relationship with ex Michael Dodd (the father of her child), and his girlfriend. In a heated argument about her daughter’s safety, Kelly once texted the girlfriend, saying she was going to “kick her ass.”
Her husband Rick Leventhal (who was also in the interview) said, “Once [my wife] gets on a roll, watch out because it’s like a stream of consciousness: ‘F you, you suck, like, you know, fat . . . on and on.'”
Kelly said her ex-husband is “always trying to shake me down . . . I don’t get child support, I don’t ask . . . Just pay for your kid . . . He [also] comes after Rick.”
According to Kelly, the girlfriend “is just an awful person to me . . . She told my daughter to get the F out of her house, which is not even her house, so right then and there that’s when things started going bad.”
Concerning the RHOC cast, Kelly believes “there isn’t real friendships there. It’s all forced, and you see it.” She said Noella Bergener is “annoying” but also “gorgeous,” and described her as “just like Braughwin . . . I mean [Noella] calls me all the time, tries to get advice. She’s a nice person. I just think she’s just fake, and it makes me upset, because I want people to like her.”
Kelly revealed that Emily Simpson once texted her about Heather Dubrow: “[Emily] was like, ‘I can’t believe . . . Heather Dubrow talks about the producers like this.’ [Heather] told them to shut down the cameras. I have it on text messages . . . And why isn’t Emily going after Heather? Why isn’t Emily saying, ‘Hey, why are you treating the producers like this’?
Kelly believes Heather is “directing” the show, and if Emily “just would have said exactly how she feels, it would have been [a] much better show.”
Kelly then shared her thoughts about Heather’s spinoff show (concerning marriage and relationships): “First of all, she’s not a therapist. I mean, she’s so irritating. I don’t know, I can’t stand her.”
Kelly also teased a “spinoff” of her own (a home remodel show): “We have a production company wanting to do a show with us.”
