Last fall, Meghan King had a fairytale wedding. The ceremony was intimate, beautiful, and surrounded by American royalty. Somewhere on the list was her husband Cuffe Owens‘ uncle — the president of the United States.
Unfortunately, Uncle Joe’s wedding gift was likely returned in the mail. Two months after their nuptials, the handsome couple decided to split. Meghan, a former star from the Real Housewives of Orange County, said it felt like an arranged marriage.
Now single again, Meghan is revealing the secrets of dating herself in what she describes as a masterdate.
In the caption of an Instagram video, Meghan wrote, “Masterdating For Beginners: 1) Go to a matinee movie (mid-week if possible) 2) eat dinner at the bar 3) wear your comfiest undies.”
She began filming in a bathrobe, showing followers the exact steps. “Masterdates are all about self-care, so I’m gonna take my vitamins,” Meghan explained, before applying her makeup.
In the next shot, Meghan is topless and wearing long underwear bottoms that she calls “granny panties.”
“I never wear granny panties — but this is my date with myself — and I love the feel of granny panties, so I’m wearing granny panties,” she expresses.
When she finally leaves the house, Meghan is wearing white boots, black pants, and a white button-up top. “OK I’m all dressed and ready to go for my masterdate — there’s a couple of things that you need to know about masterdating — first of all you have to go on a date by yourself,” she says. “Now second of all, you have to actually go on the masterdate.”
In the next shot, Meghan is at a restaurant with her drink before she transitions to the theater: “I’m walking up to the movie.” When the film is over, Meghan shares, “I cried my eyes out,” then she treats herself to dinner and returns home.
“I just got back from my masterdate, it was wonderful,” Meghan says. “I’m in my pajamas, I gave my kids a kiss good night, it’s eight o’clock, I’m going to wash my face, get that make up off of there and … another successful masterdate in the books.”
In more Meghan King news, a source close to her is telling PEOPLE more about her split from Cuffe.
“She really has moved on,” the source shared. “She’s happy and in a good place. She doesn’t talk about him or what happened at all.”
The source added, “Meghan wanted the fairy tale with Cuffe. She thought she had it. … She felt he couldn’t show up the way she thought he could.”
A few months ago, when Meghan told the world about her breakup, she described the situation as “devastating.” But in a recent interview for Jeff Lewis Live, Meghan suggested the marriage wasn’t “real” — because they were annulling it.
Time, apparently, heals all wounds.
