On the season eight premiere of Southern Charm, Kathryn Dennis called Naomie Olindo a “f–king petty little b-tch.” The altercation took place in costume at Kathryn’s 1930s-themed 30th birthday party.
Despite her feathered headpiece, Naomie wasn’t in a celebratory mood. The 29-year-old, it seems, had lingering resentment for the birthday girl, who spread cheating rumors about Cameran Eubanks‘ husband. During the party, Naomie confronted Kathryn about this, and she then went ballistic.
According to an interview with E! News, Naomie was surprised by Kathryn’s outburst.
“I think [Kathryn] was just angry at me for calling out something that she did that she thought she looked stupid over or she was just angry about it,” said Naomie. “And so whenever Kathryn gets backed into a corner like that, she’ll just start to attack, attack, attack. She does it in a very calculated way, too.”
Now, Naomie’s policy is to let “sleeping dogs lie.”
“If I see her, I’m like, ‘What’s up?’ but I don’t think that she and I will ever be friends,” she shared. “You don’t have to be friends with everyone, and especially if they’re a toxic person to you, or maybe you are to them.”
Speaking with Showbiz CheatSheet, Naomie explained the reason she confronted Kathryn. “I think that it’s important to stick up for your friends when you know what the truth is and they’re not there to defend themselves,” said the Bravolebrity. “So it was important to me because I love Cameran and I love her family and I knew what Kathryn had tried to do. I took it really seriously.”
Despite the altercation, Naomie’s return to Southern Charm “was a right place, right time kind of thing.”
“I planned on being in New York and then when my plans changed, I was flying by the seat of my pants,” she told E! News, adding, “and that included doing the show.”
Naomie left New York after discovering that her boyfriend Metul Shah was cheating.
“It was hard, and I just felt super lost,” she said. “I think you’ll probably see a little bit of that in the beginning of the season, where I’m just there and trying to figure out what I’m doing or what I want to do.”
The star continued, “I heavily leaned on my friends for that time, and they really pulled through. But I was not in the best headspace in the beginning, and then you’ll see me work my way out of that and get to such a better place, and to a point where I was very thankful for what happened.”
In her interview with Showbiz CheatSheet, Naomie explained, “I was really sad … But I was [also] really free and free to be myself and do whatever I wanted and kind of get to know myself again, which was invaluable.”
“It was the best experience,” said Naomie. “Seeing it made me more vulnerable and honest with my feelings … It was fun to film, so hopefully, it’ll be fun to watch.”
Southern Charm season eight premiered on Thursday, June 23, at 9/8c on Bravo.
