Adriana de Moura regrets comparing her foot injury to Alexia Nepola’s son’s car accident, and she said she’s apologized “profusely.” Meanwhile, Marysol Patton called her friendship with Adriana “irreparable.”
During The Real Housewives of Miami cast trip to the Bahamas, Kiki Barth and Guerdy Abraira fell on Adriana after a “Rage and Release” session, resulting in Adriana’s foot injury. She mistakenly believed the foot was broken.
In an interview for Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast, Adriana said she’s “deeply sorry” for likening her minor injury to Frankie’s 2011 car accident.
“I regret using the analogy,” explained the star, and she described her comments as “unfortunate.”
Adriana continued, “It wasn’t correct and if I could take those words back, I would.”
Before the ensuing fight between Alexia and Adriana, the cast danced to Adriana’s “Fyah” song on the boat ride to a beach.
“We had that beautiful moment on the boat where everybody is just enjoying ‘Fyah’ and everybody’s happy,” recalled Adriana.
“And when we finally got to the beach, I was telling Julia [Lemigova], ‘I’m so happy that this song has this power to unite us and we all can have fun, even if it’s for a minute.’”
Then, as Adriana tried to explain that she felt the group was dismissing her injury, Alexia replied, “It was an accident. It could have happened to any of us.”
“But accidents have consequences, as you know with Frankie,” responded Adriana.
“Now when I look back at that time, I see that it was wrong to use the analogy. Obviously, the accident didn’t compare to Frankie’s — obviously — and I wasn’t trying to compare,” she said.
“I was trying to get some empathy from her and that was the point I was trying to make. I was like, ‘Please give some empathy,'” she went on. “I have nothing but love and respect for Frankie and for her and all the things that they’ve accomplished together and this terrible journey that they were in.”
She claimed Alexia was unwilling to forgive her.
“It doesn’t matter how much I apologize and I’ve apologized profusely, like, pretty much down on my knees and she would not accept my apology,” said Adriana. “I have nothing but love and respect for Frankie and for her and all the things that they’ve accomplished together and this terrible journey that they were in … I just would not have done it.”
In addition to upsetting Alexia, Adriana angered Marysol by revealing she previously spoke to her ex-boyfriend, who allegedly said he never loved Marysol.
Speaking with Yahoo’s In The Know, Marysol (who is allied most closely with Alexia) said her friendship with Adriana is now “irreparable.”
Only time will tell how the drama played out in the season five reunion.
