As the drama of season seven begins to take hold of the cast of Summer House, Danielle Olivera, is providing fans with an update on her relationship with former best friends, Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke.
As teased in the show’s trailer, Danielle and Lindsay suffer a major falling out stemming from Lindsay’s shockingly “fast” relationship with their fellow costar, Carl, and it only grew worse with time.
Speaking with E! News, Danielle says that the rift began right after Lindsay told her that she and Carl had become an item. The Summer House star says everything happened so quickly that it left her in “shock” and revealed that as Lindsay asked for her “blessing” she confessed that she couldn’t give it to her.
“It started when she told me about her and Carl getting together, she really wanted my blessing in that moment and I just couldn’t give it to her because it was totally shocking to me,” Danielle told the outlet.
Danielle explained that she grew to feel like “the third wheel,” and the change in the trio’s dynamic was such an impactful shift that she “didn’t see it coming.”
“It was intense,” she recalled, “and then they immediately moved in together and were talking about marriage, and I’m just like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, pump the brakes.’ For me, it was a lot to take in.”
The change was so drastic to Danielle that she felt the need to step away from the couple altogether for her own sake and denies making the relationship all about her.
“I just wasn’t ready to be around them like that,” Danielle admitted. “I think distancing myself to try to process the dynamic change made her feel like ‘maybe she’s not happy for me and my relationship,’ which couldn’t be farther from the truth. I think that it’s great two best friends getting together, that’s the dream.”
Too little too late, according to Lindsay and Carl, as the engaged couple previously revealed that they “did the best we could” to accommodate Danielle’s feelings, but that she wasn’t willing to give them a chance.
“Unfortunately, when you get into a more serious relationship, people are very focused on that and grow up a little bit more, and it doesn’t seem like Danielle has been fully supportive of that growth or change,” Carl previously told Entertainment Tonight.
Danielle also isn’t holding out for an invite to Lindsay and Carl’s upcoming Fall wedding, confessing that she believes “the ship may have sailed” on her hopes for a future reconciliation with the couple.
“[Lindsay] already told me that I’m not invited,” Danielle revealed. “I think she’s waiting to see how things play out, but as of right now, I’m not in attendance.”
