Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix may have purchased their $2 million home in Los Angeles together, but, when it came to the home equity loan Sandoval took out against it, that money went to financing his and Tom Schwartz‘s bar, Schwartz & Sandy’s.
As fans may recall, Sandoval revealed plans to take out a loan to finance the venue, which opened in November 2022, during a season nine episode of Vanderpump Rules in October 2021.
“He’s doing that loan, but it’s only against his own equity. It doesn’t affect me at all,” Ariana insisted to Lisa Vanderpump then.
But, according to Lisa, it would have been impossible for Sandoval to take the loan out “against his own equity” because he and Ariana are “joint co-owners.”
“I’m not sure that Ariana quite understands the concept of putting your house up as collateral,” she explained. “If they default on their loan, then the bank never goes and takes half the house back. It’s like, ‘Ariana, you stay in bed. We only want Tom’s half.’ It doesn’t work like that.”
Still, Ariana felt that Sandoval’s financial decisions were on him, while her financial responsibilities were on her.
Now, over a year later, and weeks after their split, which was prompted by Sandoval’s affair with their Pump Rules co-star and friend, Ariana Madix, the future of their home remains up in the air.
“Right now, Tom and Ariana are still living in the same home, but sleeping in separate rooms. There’s a lot to figure out with their living situation, but no plans have been made yet,” an insider explained to PEOPLE on March 28, noting that Ariana is currently filming a movie away from home.
In other news, Ariana took to her Instagram Story earlier this week to announce the release of new Team Ariana merchandise.
“Hey guys, I’m on set, so I have to be quiet, and I can’t talk long, but I really wanted to share something exciting with you. So, if you go to this link, something cool is there. Okay, I love you guys. Bye!” she announces, as seen in a clip shared by a Pump Rules fan page on Instagram.

Also on her Instagram Story, Ariana shared a screenshot of her website, which featured an assortment of goods, including an “I was born cool” hat, a “born f-cking cool” hooded sweatshirt, and a “cooler than you” crewneck.
