Ariana Madix was treated to a series of surprises from new flame Daniel Wai and her friends over the weekend in New York City.
Just weeks after gushing over their romance, which began after they met at a mutual friend’s wedding in Mexico in March, the Vanderpump Rules star attended The Governors Ball, which included performances from Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Baby, and Odesza, before enjoying a “final surprise.”
In a post shared to his Instagram Story on June 12, Daniel included a sweet video of Ariana being presented with a birthday cake as her friends, including original poster Brad Kearns, sang her the birthday song.
Then, in a second post, which was also shared originally by Brad, Ariana’s longtime best friend, Daniel described Ariana as his “girl.”
“It’s bring your girl to work weekend,” he wrote in a caption of a photo of a bartender pouring champagne, also tagging the Pump Rules star.
Also on Daniel’s Instagram, in a joint post with Ariana, he revealed that she was surprised by several of her friends, including Brad and Jasmine Goode, as she was presented with tickets to the music festival.
“She thought she was coming here for a dinner, but got surprised by [Brad Kearns] on the plane,” Daniel wrote, tagging 11 of Ariana’s friends and saying the group was “all in the city for [The Governors Ball].”
While appearing on the Call Her Daddy podcast last month, Ariana spoke openly about her romance with Daniel, stating that things between them were “really, really great” and noting that Daniel gives her the quality time and emotional intimacy she was lacking with ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval, who infamously cheated on her with Raquel Leviss.
“I met him at this wedding, and all we did was talk. We stayed up all night just talking. It’s literally all I wanted. I was like, ‘Quality time! What is this?’ And then he flew to where he lives and I flew her to where I am and then we just FaceTimed and talked and talked and it was just like, ‘Oh my gosh, like I’m getting to know this person and the conversations we were having were like so amazing,’” Ariana revealed.
“And honestly,” she continued, “having someone that literally will be like… ‘Hey, can we just get like five minutes where we just like, have like quality time on the phone.’ I’m like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ I’m like, ‘Ok great. This is great.’”
The 11th season of Vanderpump Rules is expected to begin filming later this month.
