Southern Charm star Shep Rose appears to have ruled out dating Brynn Whitfield of the Real Housewives of New York City fame.
Shep broached the subject during an episode of Two Ts In A Pod, which happens to be cohosted by a former high school classmate of Shep’s, Teddi Mellencamp of RHOBH, as he brought up how Brynn expressed some interest in him while the two were filming the July 2023 episode of Watch What Happens Live.
The Bravo star has previously spoken out about Brynn in a September 2023 interview with Page Six. In that interview, he openly wondered what his mom would say about him dating a Real Housewife, referencing Brynn, 36.
During his interview with Teddi, Shep, 43, clarified that he is not interested in dating Bravo personalities specifically because of the unwanted attention it would bring. The businessman and socialite stated emphatically, via Heavy, “I don’t want to be in a celebrity relationship.”
He made sure to give props to Bravo, saying, “God I love Bravo. Thank you, Bravo and the fans.” But he made it clear that he doesn’t want to be “in the Blog-o-sphere, or the Bravo-a-sphere, or whatever you call it.” He explained that some of the articles he reads about Bravolebrities on Instagram and Twitter make him “cringe a little bit.”
For her part, Brynn is dealing with rumors after a pic of her and Southern Charm celeb Austen Kroll, 36, at BravoCon went viral, and after Shep accused Austen of moving in on Brynn. She clarified to Page Six that she is not dating Austen. Though, she said, “He’s very sweet.”
At the Glamour Magazine Women of the Year gala on Tuesday, the RHONY alum joked that, since Real Housewives of New York isn’t filming, she’s got to “stir the pot in Charleston,” referencing Austen’s hometown in South Carolina.

Though Brynn has previously indicated that she’s crushed on Shep, she also made it clear that they are not dating. Fans may recall that in July, the RHONY fixture admitted that she thought Shep was “cute.” And of course, Shep admitted that, when he heard of Brynn’s comment, he was “flattered.”
Apparently, the two began to exchange messages on Instagram, though the messages were short and “benign.” “I sent her a nice message — a very benign nice message — ‘Thank you, look forward to meeting you,’ and she’s like, ‘Yeah, me too,’” Shep explained.
Turn in to Bravo on Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST for new episodes of Southern Charm.
