Ariana Madix is speaking out against Tom Sandoval‘s ongoing claims about her alleged failure to pay bills for their $2 million home.
As the ex-couple was seen continuing to live together after his affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, 29, was exposed on Vanderpump Rules, Ariana, 38, shared details of the counter-offer she submitted to Sandoval, 41, amid their fight over the home, insisting that she did contribute financially and accusing Sandoval of refusing to budge on negotiations.
“In putting together my counter-offer for the purchase of the house, I am including all furniture that was purchased after moving in, you know, as part of decorating the house,” Ariana revealed on the April 9 episode of the Vanderpump Rules: After Show.
According to Ariana, she included her and Sandoval’s home furnishings in her offer after confirming via receipts that she had bought most of their belongings with her own money.
“Because it’s been said over and over and over again that I don’t pay for anything, I don’t do anything, I actually didn’t realize until looking at the actual credit card receipts and stuff with Lucinda that I paid for the majority of stuff in that house,” she stated. Sandoval then insisted there “were things that [he] bought.”
After acknowledging that Ariana purchased items as well, Sandoval said he wasn’t on board with the terms of her offer, which supposedly stated that all items not awarded to Ariana would be donated.
“I don’t see the point if somebody’s going to keep the house, of donating all this furniture, just giving it away. She was gonna take whatever she wanted, and then the rest gets donated,” he explained.
One particular sticking point with Sandoval was a mirror.
“One of those things that I knew she was gonna take was the mirror and I’m like, ‘No.’ I bought that mirror,'” he recalled, stating that Ariana “was not even present.”
“So when she kind of said that she had purchased that mirror,” he continued, “I was like, ‘That’s just completely not true.’”
Looking back at their contentious split and the stalemate they found themselves in as they feuded over what to do with their shared home, Ariana suspected Sandoval felt he could make a clean break.
“I think he thought I would just pack a backpack and move out. Really, truly it feels like that’s what he thought. ‘Here’s a little cash.’ I literally think that was what he thought was gonna happen,” she told Katie Maloney, 37.
While Ariana has taken legal action against Sandoval, requesting they be forced to sell the home and split the proceeds, Sandoval believes they’ll ultimately come to an agreement without a judgment.
“I’m sure we will. The best for everyone will present itself,” he said, optimistically. “I don’t want it to be hard for her. I hope being in a better place, being happy, we can come to a reasonable agreement.”
Sandoval went on to confirm that he “gave her an offer in mind of the house being at top market value,” noting that a court settlement would likely result in much less, as Ariana accused him of being stubborn.
“When your own best friend since you were a child is a real estate agent who got us the house in the first place and they’re saying that the best thing to do is to sell it and you want to go against everybody’s professional advice because you have to dig your heels in about owning this house for some reason, you’re probably the problem,” she stated.
Vanderpump Rules season 11 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
