Season 21 of The Bachelorette recently came to an end, and it brought more drama than fans had anticipated. Jenn Tran was the star of the season, and she ended up getting engaged to Devin Strader. However, the engagement was called off, and Devin has now decided to share his side of the story by leaking text messages with Jenn.
Devin also posted a 13-minute video to his Instagram page to go into detail about what happened behind the scenes. However, he later realized that the video contained sensitive information and profusely apologized for the indiscretion.
Devin is setting the record straight about his breakup with Jenn. As mentioned, he did so by posting screenshots of text messages that show he wanted to break up with her in person but ended up having to do it over the phone. In the text messages below, Jenn is on Devin’s phone as Coco Chanel. His texts are blue, and hers are black.
In the exchange, the estranged couple argues about him not calling her and how his perceived lack of effort impacts their relationship.
One message from Jenn reads, “I just wanted to talk to you tonight… I was supposed to be in bed two hours ago.”
Devin responds, “Okay we could’ve talked these last couple of hours.”
To this, Jenn says, “Instead, you didn’t call me and got me extremely upset.”

In other leaked texts, they argue about not conversing enough and what does and doesn’t constitute a conversation. She says, “You keep saying we text every day.” Devin then says, “We do…”
She goes on to explain that simply saying good morning and sending memes is not a conversation. In another text message, she says, “I said the level of effort you’re giving is not the level that I need in a relationship.” However, she added that she’s not trying to discredit Devin’s effort.

Then, in another text, shared by US Weekly, Jenn questions if Devin was ever really happy in their relationship. He assures her he was by saying, “Of course I meant it how could you say that? You can love people and they not work out. That’s so unfair of you to put so one sided.”
Jenn then questions how seriously he took their engagement.

As expected, and likely due to the backlash he received right away, Devin has since deleted the video he posted, which included the texts, and he issued an apology for sharing the sensitive information.
“I deeply am so sorry for showing sensitive information from the bottom of my heart,” wrote Devin in a since-deleted September 10 Instagram Story. “That was not my intention. My only intention is to show the relationship from my perspective.”
He continued, “I gain nothing from that text conversation being shown. I promise you that was a mistake.”
