All marriages go through rough patches, which is even more true regarding public relationships. Now, it seems Katharine McPhee and David Foster may be experiencing marriage woes as a new report says they are going through couple counseling.

Of course, many healthy couples seek help to strengthen their bonds, but it’s being said there are some notable issues with Katharine and David’s union.

As many reality TV fans know, David was previously married to Yolanda Hadid from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills from 2011 until 2017. However, they actually broke up in 2015. He began dating Katharine the same year his divorce was finalized, and they tied the knot two years later. The couple has one child. Now, Yolanda happens to be engaged.

A source has told Life & Style Weekly that Katharine and David are receiving help from a couples counselor to fix their marriage. According to the source, they hit a rough patch in their marriage, and, “Katharine and David were eager to learn the tools they need to better communicate. They found a counselor who was recommended by friends. Now they are working hard to build a stronger relationship.”

The report says that the main contributing factor to their marriage woes is their 34-year age gap. David is 74 and Katharine is 40.  Katharine is also David’s fifth wife.

According to the source, “They sometimes have no common ground and often argue from perspectives that are miles apart.” Apparently, some of the disagreements come from differing parenting styles. The source goes on to say that the fights are. ”

The insider also said, “Katharine hates when David treats her like a child or a possession. They need to learn how to speak to each other better!”

David also made news recently when a video surfaced of him saying Katharine was fat while she was on American Idol. Naturally, this couldn’t have been good for their marriage.

The source then highlights that seeking couples counseling was the right course of action by saying, “Many couples allow their small troubles to turn to larger ones. But there is a right and a wrong way to deal with those issues, and the right way is to seek help!”

We wish Katharine and David the best.
