RHOC’s Meghan King Tells Police Ex Jim is “Emotionally Abusive” as Officer Threatens to Cuff Her, Plus Jim Responds

Meghan King told police that her ex-husband, Jim Edmonds, was “emotionally abusive” following a May run-in with his wife, Kortnie O’Connor.

In bodycam footage from the Frontenac Police Department in Missouri, the 40-year-old Real Housewives of Orange County alum is seen surrounded by police officers near Jim, 55, and Kortnie’s home after being accused of entering the residence without permission.

According to a September 24 report shared by Us Weekly, which obtained the footage, Meghan reportedly walked away from cops and back to her car when one declared, “I am going to place you in cuffs if you don’t stop.”

Meghan then denied there was a restraining order in place between her and Jim, who were married from 2014 until 2019.

As the officer attempted to confirm Meghan’s claim, he again told her, “Ma’am, I’m going to place you in cuffs if you don’t stop, we are going to detain you.”

“You have to calm down and talk to us,” he added.

When Meghan, who shares an eight-year-old daughter, Aspen, and seven-year-old twins, Hart and Hayes, with Jim, finally agreed to talk to the authorities, she described Jim as “incredibly emotionally abusive.”

“He uses his name to push me around and his money,” she stated.

Meghan also shared that she’s had previous orders in place against Jim and claimed she’ll soon have full custody of their children as he and Kortnie, who wed in 2022, are moving to Nashville.

Meanwhile, after learning of Meghan’s “emotional abuse” claims, Jim fired back, via his rep, accusing his former spouse of “telling tales.”

“As usual, Meghan is telling tales. Her and Jim barely communicate, so if someone is emotionally abusing her, it’s not Jim,” Jim’s rep told Us Weekly.

He also denied that Meghan would be getting sole custody of their children.

“Jim is an active and present father to all his children. The unfortunate part of all this is that it’s the kids who suffer the most. Jim has always been willing to coparent in a respectful and productive way however Meghan has yet to reciprocate. Jim has a long history of consistently making decisions and acting in a way that is best for his kids,” he stated.

While Kortnie initially wanted to press charges against Meghan over the encounter, she has since dropped her request, instead agreeing to a consent order, which requires Meghan to stay away from Kortnie during their kids’ activities.
