Jen Shah will be home for the holidays.
After serving just over two years of a six-and-a-half-year prison sentence, the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) has approved a new release date for the 52-year-old Real Housewives of Salt Lake City alum, who was found guilty of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in July 2022.
According to a new report, Jen will be released on December 10.
“Everyone’s very grateful for the BOP’s decision, especially because it means Jen will be able to reunite with her family for the holidays,” Jen’s manager, Chris Giovanni, told PEOPLE on November 21. “It’s a gift she doesn’t take for granted.”
“Jen’s in a really positive, hopeful place mentally,” he added. “She’s done a lot of reflecting and real growth during her time away, and is genuinely not the same woman as she was before. Her focus is on her family and building a healthier, more grounded life. She understands the seriousness of the mistakes she made and is excited to put this chapter behind her so that she can show everyone the woman she’s worked hard to become.”
In addition to good behavior, Jen participated in prison programs, which prompted a series of reduced sentences, including her most recent.
In a statement of their own, a rep for the BOP said, “For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not discuss any incarcerated individual’s conditions of confinement or specific release plans.”
As RHOSLC fans will recall, Jen was accused of conning thousands of dollars out of victims, including the elderly, in a telemarketing scheme years ago, but she has since expressed remorse and started making restitution payments toward the $6.5 million she owes.
“I am sorry. My actions have hurt innocent people,” Jen said at her sentencing. “I want to apologize by saying, I am doing all I can to earn the funds to pay restitution.”
As for where she will go upon her release, the report said she could be allowed to go home or to a halfway house to complete her sentence with supervision.
Just months ago, Jen shared a photo of herself and husband Sharrieff “Coach” Shah, the father of her two sons, Sharrieff Jr., 31, and Omar, 22, amid a prison visit on their 31st wedding anniversary.
“Happy 31st Anniversary today to me and my baby! Words cannot express how much I love and appreciate you. You bring so much joy to my life & I am forever thankful for your overwhelming love and support as we approach this next chapter. Thank you for blessing me with two amazing young men. I love you so much & can’t wait to hold you again soon,” she wrote.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season six airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
