Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie Osefo, had their email account, bank records, and Instagram accounts seized during an investigation into potential fraud.
Weeks after the Real Housewives of Potomac couple, both 41, were arrested on charges stemming from an allegedly staged robbery at their home in April 2024, the State’s Attorney’s Office reveals they gathered information against them through a series of searches and seizures.
According to a report from The U.S. Sun on November 18, court filings have revealed that warrants were issued to a number of companies, including Google, Meta, TextNow, Inc., Ring Protect, Inc., and ADT Services, which allowed investigators to gain access to Wendy and Eddie’s Gmail accounts, including one that was not tied to either of their names, and their Instagram accounts, including @thedrwendyshow and @wendyosefo.
In one email reportedly sent by Eddie to Wendy on April 12, 2024, he listed their reportedly stolen items and asked if there were “additional high-value items we can add to this inventory listing (i.e., Chanel shoes, etc.)? I’m trying to get the total to exceed $423,000 which is our policy maximum.”
A search and seizure warrant was also served on Wendy’s Apple ID, and discovery featured bank records from Ally Bank, American Express, and Capital One, and financial information from Van Cleef, Louis Vuitton, Saks, and Ascot Diamonds.
As the state gathers more information, it has seemingly denied that Wendy and Eddie’s arrests were illegal, as both parties suggested.
“Statements made by the Defendant were voluntary and made after the Defendant was properly advised of his/her rights,” the state explained.
It also appears to be moving forward with a joint trial, despite the couple’s efforts to be tried separately.
“The Defendant will not be prejudiced by a joinder of his/her trial with co-defendants and he/she will not be prejudiced by a joinder of charges,” paperwork explained.
As RHOP fans may have seen, Wendy attended BravoCon over the weekend, where she addressed her and Eddie’s legal situation.
“It’s an unfortunate situation, and right now I can’t say too much, but I will say when the time is right, I will share my story with everyone, and for now they’re just allegations, so we will continue to push forward,” she stated.
The Real Housewives of Potomac season 10 airs Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
