Amanda Batula is shutting down rumors of a potentially impending split from husband Kyle Cooke.
While attending BravoCon days after a report alleged that she and Kyle, 43, were living separately and facing a challenging time, the 34-year-old Summer House star spoke out about her marriage in a series of interviews with castmate Ciara Miller, 29, joking about a “slow news day.”
“Kyle and I are always going through a difficult time. I feel like it’s nothing new. I keep saying, ‘The news must’ve been slow that day cuz I didn’t realize that me and Kyle arguing was newsworthy.’ [It’s the] same stuff every season, so no, everything’s fine,” Amanda told Danny Pellegrino in a video shared by Bravo by Brett.
Then, after confirming she “of course” had her wedding ring on, she explained why she often doesn’t wear it.
“I never wear my ring. When I wash my face, I don’t want to scratch it up with these hard diamonds, and then I have ADD, so I forget to put it back on, and then I don’t wear any jewelry, and then all of the sudden, I’m getting a divorce,” she stated.
During a separate interview, with Entertainment Tonight, Amanda again said that she and Kyle going through a challenging time “is not news.”
“I think it’s been consistent like that,” she noted. “I was even reading the comments and everyone’s like, ‘Oh, and my jaw stayed in place.’ So yeah, I’m not really sure what the point of that was, but we are figuring it all out — as we always are.”
Also speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Ciara reacted to the idea that certain cast members would be “moving on” to Summer House: In the City, and that she would keep the ship afloat on the main show.
“No one’s moving on. We’re still all friends. I just think, obviously, I’m still single and trying to party it up in the Hamptons … I have more things to do in the Hamptons or wherever they want us to go, quite honestly. Maybe Italy,” she suggested.
Meanwhile, in a third interview, with Bravo’s The Daily Dish, Amanda revealed that she and Kyle are looking at “new apartments.”
“I have been dying to move. I think you guys have seen for the past five years,” she explained. “So we’re always looking for new apartments.”
That said, she and Kyle won’t relocate “until the perfect place arises.”
“We just can’t find one that we’ve settled on that both of us like,” she continued. “So we’re still up in the air on that. Like, especially when you’ve lived in the perfect place for six years.”
Also at BravoCon, Amanda appeared on a panel, where she explained how she’d changed since season one
“When I started, I was 24. I was actually labeled as Kyle’s ex-girlfriend, but was never actually his girlfriend, so that was fun,” she said. “So I’ve done so much growing up. And now that I’m 34, because it has been 10 years, I feel like I’m a whole different person.”
“I feel like I’ve really come into my own, you know,” she continued. “I was Kyle’s ex-girlfriend, then Kyle’s girlfriend, then Kyle’s fianceé, then Kyle’s wife, and now I’m sitting next to Mr. Batula, also known as Amanda Batula’s husband.”
No word yet on a premiere date for Summer House season 10.
