Jen Shah was released from the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas, on Wednesday morning after serving 33 months of her 6.5-year term.

Years after she was found guilty of fraud, and after a series of reductions to her sentence, the 52-year-old Real Housewives of Salt Lake City alum, who began serving her term in February 2023, is expected to celebrate the upcoming holidays with her husband, Sharrieff “Coach” Shah, and their two sons, Sharrieff Jr., 31, and Omar, 22, who stuck by her side throughout her time behind bars.

Jen’s rep confirmed the news of her release to PEOPLE on December 10.

“We can confirm that Jennifer Shah transferred on December 10, 2025, from the Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Bryan to community confinement overseen by the Bureau of Prisons’ (BOP) Phoenix Residential Reentry Management (RRM) Office,” a spokesperson for the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) told PEOPLE. “Community confinement means the inmate is in either home confinement or a Residential Reentry Center (RRC, or halfway house). For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not disclose an individual’s specific location while in community confinement.”

Another report, shared by TMZ, shared that while Jen is no longer in prison, she is either on house arrest or at a halfway house.

According to the report, Jen has five years left of post-release supervision, during which she will be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing and to participate in an outpatient mental health program. She’ll also need to take prescribed medication.

Weeks ago, when it was first announced that Jen would be leaving prison on December 10, her manager, Chris Viovanni, told PEOPLE that the early release was a “gift [Jen] doesn’t take for granted.”

“Jen’s in a really positive, hopeful place mentally. She’s done a lot of reflecting and real growth during her time away, and is genuinely not the same woman as she was before,” he explained. “Her focus is on her family and building a healthier, more grounded life. She understands the seriousness of the mistakes she made and is excited to put this chapter behind her so that she can show everyone the woman she’s worked hard to become.”

At a sentencing hearing in January 2023, Jen expressed regret about the years-long telemarketing scheme she ran, which targeted elderly victims.

“I am sorry. My actions have hurt innocent people,” Jen said. “I want to apologize by saying, I am doing all I can to earn the funds to pay restitution.”

In addition to a 6.5-year prison term, Jen was ordered to pay $6.5 million in restitution, and has started to make payments to make amends for her debt.

As for what’s next, Andy Cohen, 57, has made it clear that he has no intention of bringing Jen back to RHOSLC, but a report earlier this month suggested that ABC executives were interested in having her on Dancing With the Stars.

DWTS is eyeing Jen Shah for next season,” an insider told The U.S. Sun on December 1. “They know, they know. They know the backlash will be loud, but frankly, they aren’t scared of it. They’ve cast Sean Spicer. Bristol Palin. Anna Delvey. They aren’t afraid to make a splash.”

“They know Bravo isn’t going to touch Jen anytime soon, they’ve publicly said that they aren’t. Which gives fans that both love and hate her the hunger to see how post-prison life is,” the source continued. “There will be a hole there that ABC can step in and fill in. Obviously, nothing is for sure yet since she hasn’t even been released yet. But people on the show’s side have been in touch with members of her team.”

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season six airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
