Kelly Dodd explained why she was refusing to pay for her daughter, Jolie Dodd, to attend college in a social media video shared earlier this month.
Weeks after the 50-year-old Real Housewives of Orange County alum was heard threatening and berating Jolie, 19, in a leaked voicemail, Kelly revealed why she was unwilling to help further her child’s education as she lashed out at her ex-husband, Michael Dodd, and her brother, Eric Meza, for failing to step up.
“No, I’m not gonna pay for her. Why would I pay for somebody who’s disrespectful and doesn’t want to talk to me, doesn’t want to have a relationship with me? Why would I do that?” Kelly asked one of her curious followers, as seen in a January 13 clip shared by Chai Spilla on TikTok.
“I’m not gonna reward bad behavior. This is on her. This isn’t on me. This is on her. She’s gotta figure it out. Sorry. I’m not going to,” Kelly continued.
She then turned her attention to Michael, saying, “He’s got one kid, one child,” as she wondered why he and her brother, who slammed her as “demonic” and accused her of being abusive towards Jolie after the leaked voicemail, couldn’t “come up with $10,000 between the both of them.”
“What losers,” she declared.
As the video continued, a follow-up Kelly had shared on January 27 was seen
“I guess Jolie, good news on Jolie, I guess her dad ended up paying for her school, and she’s back in France,” Kelly revealed as she and her husband, Rick Leventhal, 66, agreed that it was “good for her.”
“She got straight As. Isn’t it funny how that works? When you start doing things yourself,” Kelly added.

Amid their messy feud at the end of last year, Kelly spoke to Us Weekly, confirming she apologized to her child and revealing she’d like to have her back in her life.
“I apologized to Jolie. All I want is Jolie back in my life,” she said. “I have been trying to narrow the gap and bring Jolie back. I talked to her that way because it was out of anger and frustration.”
“Should I have done it? No. Did I apologize? Yeah, I did. But she doesn’t know how to move on, and she’s getting bad advice from bad people, and she has a lot of growing up to do,” she concluded.
