Austen Kroll appeared on Wednesday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, where he addressed his split from Audrey Pratt and ongoing tension with Craig Conover.
As he also spoke of Salley Carson, 31, pursuing him after his breakup, revealed the last time he hooked up with Lindsay Hubbard, 39, and suggested that Shep Rose, 45, was “Switzerland” amid his feud with Craig, 36, the 38-year-old Southern Charm star admitted it wasn’t easy watching his split from Audrey play out on the show.
“It’s heartbreaking for me to kind of see it back and for her to be like, ‘I didn’t know that these thoughts were going through your head.’ So that definitely is very sad because I care about her still a lot,” Austen revealed on the February 4 episode of WWHL.
As for where they stand today, he added, “We are. But not as often. I mean, we certainly talked when the trailer dropped and then again a couple months later and then she just saw some things and was like, ‘WTF?’”
Moving on to Salley, Austen confirmed his now-ex “did not like” her and “thought that Salley overstepped.” That said, he admitted to being attracted to Salley when they first met.
He then said that when it came to Salley pursuing him after his split, “It’s kind of like an on-brand thing. She’s boy crazy.”
According to Austen, it was “so dramatic” that Craig called him an enemy amid their spat at his birthday dinner.
Although he has been called out for being mad at Craig for going to bars, then mad that he stopped, Austen clarified, “That’s not entirely true.”
“I’m not mad at Craig for drinking. I think Craig’s fun when he drinks. [But] there’s a threshold, of course,” he noted.
Regarding Rodrigo Reyes, 41, and his suggestion that he was to blame for his drama with Craig, Austen admitted to being “disappointed.”
“That is not how Rod feels, and I know that for a fact,” he declared. “We are very close. He said to me, ‘Austen, look, man, you and I are better friends and I know that you can take it more than Craig,’ and I’m like, that is a bullshit answer and I don’t like it. I think that you’re too chicken shit to say how you actually feel about Craig.’ And he was like, ‘Damn. My bad.’”
When asked about the last time he hooked up with Lindsay, Austen confessed to thinking a BravoCon rendezvous was possible.
“She was full court pressing, [but] it hasn’t been since the one and only time that her and I have hooked up.”
Then, during a game of “Shag, Marry, Kill” with Paige DeSorbo, 33, Amanda Batula, 34, Ciara Miller, 30, Austen said he’d marry Paige and shag Amanda.
“She’s newly single. I bet she’s got, you know, she’s a tomcat,” he explained.
Also on the live show, Austen played a game of “1, 2, 3, Agree or Disagree?,” agreeing that Shep would be single for life, that Craig gaslit Salley, and that Madison Lecroy, 35, was a better friend to him than Craig and Shep combined.
Additionally, Austen agreed that Venita had a right to hate Craig as much as she did, that Craig would get back with Paige if she’d take him, and that he’d one day have a family, but disagreed that he missed Jarrett “JT” Thomas, 40.
Later, on the WWHL: After Show, after shading Shep as “Switzerland” for failing to intervene amid his birthday dinner dispute with Craig, Austen confirmed that he and Craig were not in a good place.
“I know how to push Craig’s buttons. There’s no doubt about it, but the punishment doesn’t fit the crime a lot of times,” he noted.
He was then asked if he regretted brushing off Whitney Sudler-Smith, 57, when he told him to apologize to Craig, and questioned about his use of the word “hate.”
“I was there, like martinis and red wines and all the things, so emotions were flowing, which is why I used the word ‘hate,'” he explained. “But I wanted to see what his reaction was to me saying that, so I could see, like, does he care if I hate him, or does he just, ‘Whatever, man, I don’t even care about you anymore.’ [And I found his reaction] to be very unsatisfactory. He basically was like, ‘you’re a loser.’”
Southern Charm season 11 airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
