The Real Housewives of Rhode Island season one trailer has arrived, introducing Bravo fans to its newest lineup of housewives, including Alicia Carmody, Rosie DiMare, Ashley Iaconetti, Liz McGraw, Rulla Nehme Pontarelli, Kelsey Swanson, and Jo-Ellen Tiberi, and reintroducing Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dolores Catania as a “friend.”
According to Bravo, the new franchise’s debut season will watch as the ladies navigate “the murky waters of friendships, feuds, and shifting loyalties within Rhode Island’s tightly woven social scene.”
“Welcome to the Ocean State. It may be America’s smallest, but don’t be fooled — the drama is wicked wild,” a release shared by Bravo’s The Daily Dish on February 5 declared. “In a place where everyone knows everyone and family names carry serious weight, nothing is ever truly forgotten. Friendships are built over decades, loyalties are deeply rooted, and secrets are guarded at all costs … until betrayal strikes and the cracks begin to show.”
“Amid a season defined by evolving relationships and rising tensions, some of the group’s most pivotal moments unfold during unforgettable escapes. As the summer heat sizzles in Rhode Island, the ladies retreat to one of Newport’s most historic and privately owned mansions, Seaview Terrace, for a glamorous weekend that rivals the Gilded Age, where opulence sets the stage for major shake-ups. Later, a sun-drenched excursion to beloved East Coast getaway Block Island pushes tensions to a breaking point as two couples go head-to-head. When lines are crossed and truths surface, nothing — and no one — is off limits,” the announcement continued.
Meanwhile, in the accompanying trailer, it is clear that the women wasted no time exposing the nitty-gritty of their relationships.
“In Rhode Island, everyone knows everyone,” Ashley says as the clip begins. “People here, they don’t look down on other states, but they are weirded out that other states exist.”
“Welcome to Rhode Island, where nobody tells anybody the truth, then everybody just lies to each other’s faces but talks sh*t behind their back. Welcome. I love it here,” another cast member sarcastically adds.
Someone else mentions “echoes of Rulla’s husband [Brian Pontarelli] having an affair.”
Then, Jo-Ellen tells Rulla, “I want you to know that it’s happening currently.”
In another scene, Rulla complains, “This petty f*cking sl*t has been trying everything to put stuff out there as though my husband is involved or still involved, and that’s not the case,” as Liz tells her, “But he is, Ma. But he is.”
Elsewhere, Kelsey accuses Jo-Ellen of having sex with her ex on a boat.
“I mean, I think we had sex on land,” Jo-Ellen clarifies.
Another intense scene sees Jo-Ellen warning Kelsey, “You f*ck with my husband, with my kids, with my job, I’m gonna ruin your f*cking life,” and later, Rosie accuses Kelsey of having “two boyfriends.”
Also in the trailer, as Brian defends himself to another husband, suggesting that he was perpetuating rumors, Ashley confronts her spouse, Jared Haibon, about his insecurities.
The Real Housewives of Rhode Island season one premieres Thursday, April 2, at 9/8c on Bravo, but will move to Sunday nights starting on April 5 at the same time.
