Reza Farahan reacted to a resurfaced clip from a past reunion special for Shahs of Sunset in which he made a racially-charged comment about Married to Medicine star Toya Bush-Harris during an interview last week.

While offering an update on where he stands with Sky Askari, 44, after their recent tiff on The Valley: Persian Style and explaining what he finds “unbearable” about her. Reza, 52, looked back on a discussion he had with Mercedeh Javid, 53, regarding her decision to name her dog after Toya, 49.

“I appreciate anyone’s perspective from a 2026 lens. I would just remind them that I love Toya and I’m in a wonderful place with Toya, and unfortunately, [that] was then, [and] this is now,” Reza explained during a January 27 interview with Brice Sander for Entertainment Tonight.

In the scene in question from the Shahs reunion, Reza asked Mercedes if her dog was “hood” after she spoke of naming it Toya since the animal and reality star were “both mischievous.”

“Is your Toya hood?” Reza asked on the show.

“She’s gonna be,” Mercedes replied.

Years later, Reza confirmed he was apologetic.

“If I ruffled any feathers or hurt anyone’s feelings, I would extend an apology to that person,” he told Brice. “But it was a moment in time, very specific as it related to a fight between Toya and [Mariah Huq] at a party, referencing clips from interview bites of a specific episode that happened at that time, and I was paraphrasing things from the show then that don’t make sense out of context.”

“Would I say it today? No. Am I sorry for saying it? Absolutely. But it was a soundbite from a clip, and literally, I love Toya. We’re very close, and hopefully that means something to those people that I upset,” he concluded.

As for his status with Sky, Reza explained that they butted heads amid the cast’s trip to Palm Springs, California, because they were simply too close for too long.

“I mean, you know, Sky is Sky. I like to microdose Sky,” Reza explained during a January 29 interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish. “I can’t take her in long spans of time or long doses.”

After offering to help Sky with a house hunt, Reza grew annoyed with her obsession with wealth and dislike of the Valley.

“She’s just Bel Air, money, jewelry,” Reza shared. “Like, girl, how many times are you gonna work Bel Air into a conversation? I’m a real estate agent. No one that’s buying a house in Bel Air talks about it the way that you do. It’s a little unbearable for me.”

After calling her out for her fixation on wealth in front of the group, as she insisted she wasn’t “snobby,” Reza defended his outburst.

“There was like five or six very specific things that happened that led to me realizing like, oh, she’s not respectful of my career and my time, nor is she respectful of [Mercedes Javid’s] career and her time,” he added. “And it’s about time that I say something.”

The Valley: Persian Style season one airs Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
