Taylor Frankie Paul has been given just eight hours of supervised visitation each week with her two-year-old son, Ever.
Amid an hours-long protection hearing in Utah on Tuesday, during which the 31-year-old Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star’s former boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, 33, attempted to have the temporary restraining order he was granted in March made permanent, a judge put a temporary custody arrangement into place, noting that Taylor would be allowed to see Ever in two-hour or three-hour increments until their next hearing on April 30.
According to an April 7 report from TMZ, authorities are continuing to look into claims of domestic violence that Dakota made against Taylor, who temporarily lost custody of their son due to the temporary protective order Dakota was granted.
As fans will recall, an investigation was launched back in February after Taylor was accused of attacking Dakota. Then, another was opened in March regarding an alleged incident that had taken place in 2024.
Also, amid the court hearing on Tuesday, per Us Weekly, a guardian spoke on Ever’s behalf, sharing that in May of last year, Taylor allegedly pushed Dakota while he was holding the child, causing him to nearly fall over. They also noted that since Taylor was required to take domestic violence evaluation and parenting classes after she pleaded guilty to assault in February 2023, she “should have the skills” to properly deal with conflict with Dakota.
The guardian went on to state that Taylor’s behavior made him “nervous” since she “lacks total self-control” when she gets upset at Dakota, which puts the kids, who include eight-year-old daughter, Indy, and five-year-old son, Ocean, whom she shares with ex-husband Tate Paul, “at risk.”
Meanwhile, after a judge agreed with the guardian that Taylor and Dakota have “volatility” in their relationship, the guardian suggested that Taylor wasn’t intentionally putting her children in danger, as Dakota’s attorneys disagreed. According to his team, Taylor once allegedly kicked a door down to a room where one of her children was sleeping.
In response, Taylor’s attorneys insisted it was Dakota who was escalating the tension between them, claiming he once used their son as a “human shield,” and declaring that Ever was “safe” around Taylor and “thrives” in her care.
In addition to Taylor’s season of The Bachelorette being canceled amid the abuse allegations against her, Secret Lives of Mormon Wives‘ fifth season was also halted with no confirmation of a new start date.
