RHORI Recap: Alicia Calls Rosie a “Snake,” Liz Brands Herself a “Drunken Witch” and Apologizes to Kelsey After Clash, Plus Alicia Gets Emotional Over Fiancé’s Financial Control

On this episode of Real Housewives of Rhode Island, Liz and Kelsey make up, but Rosie finds herself in the hot seat. Loyalty runs deep in this state and when Rosie tries to stir the pot, Alicia, the self-proclaimed “sensitive gangster” refuses to let Rosie twist her words…

Liz has her twin, Dolores, over and they hold a sage ceremony.  After the way Jo-Ellen jumped on Rulla, the house needs a refresh.  Liz is not sure why Rulla continues to deny these affair rumors so vehemently and Dolores points out that there was a lot of mean girl behavior the night before. Liz explains that she came across as a “drunken witch” who lost her sh*t on Kelsey. Liz feels like Kelsey is trying to avoid her own issues with Dino and so she exploded on her.

Liz goes on to say that for a brief moment, Dino and Kelsey were in a romantic relationship, yet some people try to make it seem like Liz and Dino had some sort of “torrid affair.” Liz explains that this is triggering because she trusted Kelsey. Liz feels like yes, she owes Kelsey an apology, but Kelsey owes her one, too.

Ashley brings the ladies to her favorite beach, but this is culture shock to this country club/beach club crew.  As they nosh on some pizza chips (where’s the cheese?!), Rosie invites them to Rail Explorers for some activities.  She is hopeful this type of outing will curtail any fighting, but after last night, nothing is off the table. Jo-Ellen is all up in Rulla’s marriage and Alicia points out that once a cheater, always a cheater: Rulla met Brian when he was married to her Spanish teacher.

But “enough about Rulla and her weirdo husband…” Alicia is about to lose it if Kelsey doesn’t explain what happened with Liz. Kelsey shares that she thought Liz should try to distance herself from any type of rumors about Dino and the alleged affair. Alicia explains that Liz is no BS and she even gets scared of her, so Kelsey better figure things out.

While Jo-Ellen is out of town for work, her sister comes to the rescue to help out at the house.  Despite her hubby touching her sister’s boobs while they were in high school, Jo-Ellen is not worried, even IF her sister refers to her and Gary as an old married couple and even IF her sister does perpetuate this fun “little game of flirting” with her husband.

Alicia loves spending time with her family and so she has invited a few of the ladies to join in on the fun. It is helpful that she has a long history with Liz.  Liz’s sister and Alicia’s mom are best friends, so Liz knows the whole gang and is basically part of the family. Rulla arrives and explains their interconnected lives between jewelry and pizzerias, whereas Ashley is very much the outsider.

The ladies get to chatting and everyone is kind of over Billy not putting Liz’s name on the house.  Billy is very much in control of Liz’s finances and although Alicia has been engaged to him for quite some time, she is still hesitant in getting married because she needs to feel more of a commitment.

Rulla gives her marital opinion and vaguely mentions the “bumps” in her own marriage. Rulla opens up about the indiscretions that her husband had and shares that she is having a hard time getting over the lies. As Rulla listens to all of the war stories from Alicia’s family about wandering husbands, she tries to find the good in Brian.  But at the end of the day, they all “hope and pray that” Rulla somehow hurts him. LOL.

Rosie explains that she does like children, yet she is unsure if she wants that responsibility of having her own. As she visits with Ashley and her kids, she admits that she is not ready to be a mom. Rosie shares that she was trying to get pregnant before they even got married, but she is very much in the gray area about this topic.  This might have something to do with Rosie’s relationship with her mom and she does not want to mess up any kids.

Liz’s husband’s sport fishing chapter is coming to an end and so he has sold the boat.  He used to be gone for three weeks to a month and it wasn’t uncommon for Gerry to call Dino to have him look after Liz.  Kelsey has been called upon to help Liz clean out the boat, but Kelsey is nervous after the way they left things.

Liz admits that she is not proud of her reactions and the word “ongoing” triggered her big time. Kelsey feels like she said it because she had a different experience with Dino and it wasn’t so good. Kelsey shares that she hooked up with Dino about ten years ago and he would show up to places Kelsey was after she called it off.  Therefore, she tried to cut him out of her life, but Dino is now around all the time.  Kelsey shares that she has PTSD over her relationship with Dino, but in the end, both ladies apologize and move on.

Rulla is thrilled to learn Jo-Ellen is out of town for Rosie’s workout outing.  After the way they left things, it’s better off.  On the car ride there, Rosie opens up about her colitis and claims she left the news job on medical leave, but Kelsey knows she really got fired for having an affair with one of the higher ups.  Woah.

The ladies arrive at Rail Explorers, pour themselves some drinks, and get going.  Rosie gets paired up with Liz and shakes her down for some information about Ashley.  Liz explains that her first impression of Ashley is not great, but Rosie lets Liz know that people think she’s scary.

As they sit down to eat, Rosie fills Ashley in on what Liz said about her.  Ashley swears that she is just shy, which people might mistake as b*tchiness. They walk back over to Alicia talking about her issues with Bill and she says that she has never had a conversation with Bill about her issues. Alicia wants Bill to put her on the house to show her that she is worth something and she becomes emotional role playing with Kelsey. Rulla reminds Alicia that she has value, despite not having any financial gains to bring to the table.

Later, Ashley states that she and Rosie have been intimated by Liz. Liz makes it clear that although she may look tough on the outside, deep down she is a softie.  She does not allow many people to get close to her and admits that she was drunk and heated at her party, which is why she lost it on Kelsey.

Rosie decides to stir the pot today.  “Alicia, you said she’s (Liz’s) always like that when she gets mad.” Ooo Rosie throwing Alicia under the bus. Alicia is not happy that Rosie is spinning this around and Liz is demanding to hear the truth. Rosie is doing a good job of p*ssing Alicia off and Alicia calls Rosie a “f*cking troll.”  She does not like how Rosie twisted her words and refers to her as a thirsty b*tch.

Rosie plays dumb and claims that Alicia thinks she is trying to start a problem with Liz. Ashley feels so bad for Rosie and realizes just how far Alicia would go to defend Liz. Alicia keeps calling Rosie a snake and Liz comes to talk to her off the ledge.

It is clear that Rosie will exaggerate and manipulate the truth, but that is not going to work with this group. Rosie apologizes to Alicia who is slowly coming down from her rage.  Alicia refers to herself as a “sensitive gangster” and as quickly as this fight erupted, they are already hugging it out. Rosie lives to see another day…this time.
