Kyle is spiraling and feels like he is drowning on this episode of Summer House. A fight between Carl and Kyle breaks out, leaving the house wondering where the friends go from here. As one friendship gets rocked, Kyle’s marriage to Amanda continues to be on thin ice. But Ciara and West are thrilled to be “so back” after their make-up. However, should Ciara jump right back in with West, or keep him at arms length until she figures out his intentions this time around?
“I’m so sick and tired of normalizing what I deal with.” Kyle is going off about Amanda. He is also furious that Carl b*tched and whined all summer long, but Carl reminds Kyle he supported him all summer long. Carl calls Kyle a loser and tells him to focus on himself. As Carl eggs Kyle on to punch him, the ladies are shook inside the house and Amanda lets the girls know that, in case they missed it, Kyle’s not ok.
The guys split up the fighting before it escalates any further. Carl wants Kyle to look inward, but Kyle is sick of being attacked by everyone. No one is thinking straight and things were said in the heat of the moment. Lindsay attempts to get Carl to calm down as Amanda desperately tries to stop a raging Kyle. She even screams, “I’m gonna f*cking punch you in the face” if he does not stop. Ah, marriage.
Kyle wants everyone to find another target. He hates that Carl says he is fine, but then talks sh*t behind his back and now it has bubbled over. Kyle believes that Carl is mad that he did not invest in Soft Bar, so now he feels like the bad guy. As Carl looms over Kyle, Kyle spews, “I forgot Carl’s 6’5 and more fragile than a China doll.” Kyle also calls Carl a “vagisil,” which is equal parts hilarious and ridiculous.
West points out that Kyle got riled because of Lindsay, but that’s when their marital issues come out-when other people talk about their relationship. West reminds Kyle that Amanda had nothing to do with it, but there’s really no getting through to him. Amanda is over Kyle preaching about partnership when it feels like the opposite in their marriage.
Carl is aghast that Kyle is banking the next five years of his life on DJing. He realizes that Kyle has lots that he needs to figure out and knows where he stands with Kyle now. In the meantime, Lindsay finds Kyle and claims she did not expect the night to go this way, because how else could it go when you pry into people’s relationships??
Kyle breaks down when he talks about the conversation he had with Ciara on the beach regarding separation. Kyle cries that he is so vulnerable and feels attacked left and right. Lindsay needs Kyle to stop saying FU to Amanda, but Kyle states that he feels deserted. No sex for 7 years, no attention, no friendship, no partnership would leave anyone feeling that way! But, Lindsay points out that perhaps Amanda feels deserted when Kyle leaves for his DJing gigs.
Carl apologizes to Amanda and it seems like Amanda is really on his side. Dara reminds Carl that it’s not his responsibility to explain what just went down. Lindsay finds Amanda and lets her know that Kyle feels deserted, especially after the separation conversation he had with Ciara. Lindsay believes that this is what puts Kyle right over the edge and Amanda wonders what she is holding out for with Kyle anymore. The only one who seemed into the fight was Bailey, who found Carl so hot when he was revved up in anger.
KJ really thought Carl was going to hit Kyle, but Carl explains that he just wants his friend to be ok. Where do they go from here, especially after all the things that have been said? Kyle feels like he is drowning, but don’t worry, Amanda is sure to thank West for pulling up his chair next to her in the midst of the fight. She even tells him “I love you,” which would seem perfectly harmless, but…the vibes are different now.
Kyle pulls Carl aside and squashes it right away. Carl admits that he lost his shit and Kyle agrees that he did also. Kyle tearfully apologizes and Carl realizes he made it worse. It was a heated moment and they laugh off the fact that they both needed to get their issues out. Carl claims he is not mad about the lack of investment and Kyle feels like he keeps taking bullets as Amanda eats it up. “Imagine feeling like your wife, your partner, I can’t even remember the last time she stood up for me.”
Kyle thinks Amanda loves when he leaves. He thinks she can’t stand him and it’s a horrible feeling. According to Kyle, “it is beyond people’s comprehension of what’s going on.” Kyle can barely hold it together as he tells Carl about the potential separation Ciara suggested. Kyle feels like a “mess” and like his life is falling apart. The guys apologize and they announce to the group that they are good again.
Jesse jumps in and says that it’s great he is ok with Carl, but now he has to make it right with Amanda, who claims she is not looking for sympathy. Amanda bemoans what just went down with Mia and Ciara. She states, “I think I would lose my f*cking mind if I saw my friend going through this.” Ok, so now they’re not standing up for you enough? Ciara reminds Amanda that this is what friends do- stick up for one another.
Kyle enters, stating that he hugged it out with Carl, now he wants to hug it out with Amanda, yes in front of Mia and Ciara. He claims the DJ thing got misunderstood and the smug look on Amanda’s face while he got attacked triggered him. Amanda cuts Kyle off and lets him know that it’s not even about the DJing stuff, so what IS it about? Amanda tells Kyle that she just needs some time, but all Kyle wants is for them to be on the same team. When Kyle exits, Amanda wonders where the apology is…
Kyle mumbles to himself that Amanda is “too scared to get out of it [the marriage] cuz she can’t do anything herself.” Clocked her.
Before they head out, Amanda tells Kyle he was only talking about himself and picks apart his apology. She tells Kyle that the only way he expresses himself is by screaming. Kyle denies this and heads out with the gang for the night. When Kyle is asked where he is sleeping after the fight with Amanda, Kyle jokes, “imagine if Jesse was like “yo I’m trying to sleep with your wife?”’ OOPH- wrong roomie.
The next morning, Kyle attempts to snuggle with Amanda. He claims he did not mean for Amanda to be home alone the night before, but he gets absolutely nothing out of her.
West is busy Googling facts about snakes (you know the old saying, you Google what you are or something like that…) and laughs that he knew Ciara would never make out with Jesse. Jesse admits he misread the situation with Ciara and it was flippant. But then West changes the subject quickly, wondering how Amanda is feeling (that tracks).
Ciara wonders what will happen to Kyle and Amanda after the summer. If he’s ok to talk to Amanda like that in front of all those people, it makes you wonder what happens behind closed doors. Ciara calls it ridiculous because neither one of them seems happy.
The Apres Ski Dream is starting in a couple hours. Ciara is hosting the last party of the summer and she means business- all hands on deck for set up. Sabrina joins the house and excitedly runs around saying hello to the house.
KJ is sad that the summer is wrapping up because he has made such great connections with people in the house. Mia talks about creating new traditions and KJ invites Mia and Ciara to pull up if they are looking for somewhere to go for the holidays. Mia is happy that she is able to feel again and is grateful for the way the friendships formed.
Lindsay points out that Ciara said she loved West the most and West plays it off, claiming it felt sad that they had to pretend not to get along for two summers. West is having a hard time processing this confusing roller coaster ride with Ciara.
Ciara makes a toast for the last party of the summer and reminds the group that they are going out tonight, so don’t get too drunk. Famous last words. West compliments Dara on her having the hottest outfit of the summer, which is weird, considering they used to date. Dara wonders if one day he will get back with Ciara.
Jesse finds out that there has been no conversation about the gray area between Ciara and West. Ciara admits that she kinda finds flirting with West fun. She is still scared of his ability to be in it and then not…the whip lash is killing Ciara and Jesse hopes it just doesn’t get weird again. You and the rest of the world, Jesse…
