Brittany Cartwright opened up about being on the receiving end of body shamers following a recent episode of her podcast.
While also reacting to the new romance between Michelle Saniei, 37, and Dr. Dre, 61, addressing the whereabouts of her wedding ring, and confirming whether Lala Kent, 35, and Zack Wickham, 39, get along, the 37-year-old star of The Valley admitted that she had been faced with “intense” hate on social media.
“It’s been really hard lately,” Brittany shared on When Reality Hits, via Vanderpod Recaps on Instagram. “I’ve noticed it so much more recently. Looking back on the first couple of episodes of The Valley, I had definitely gained weight. I’ve lost weight since we filmed this season.”
According to Brittany, her divorce from Jax Taylor, 46, and the stress from it, impacted her weight in ways she didn’t highlight on the show. So, fans may not understand her personal turmoil.
“I’m still working on losing weight. But the body shaming and everything has just been so intense this year. I don’t understand it. I feel like I’m nice to everybody. I don’t know why people are attacking me so hard,” she noted.
In addition to experiencing regular fluctuations in her weight, Brittany was faced with an arm injury last year that got in the way of her regular fitness routine. Luckily, she’s since been able to get back to it.
“I am dieting … I’ve already lost eight pounds since you guys even saw me on Watch What Happens Live,” she shared.
Brittany has also undergone a mommy makeover since filming The Valley‘s third season, and she now has a “flat stomach” and “awesome boobs.”
“I’m going to come out like [Ariana Madix] at the reunion this year, and you guys are going to be like, putting your foot in your mouth,” she declared.
Moving on to Michelle and Dr. Dre, Brittany admitted she didn’t know much about their relationship.
“I think it’s just something that is new right now,” she explained. “Don’t really know what’s going on. Don’t know if it’s serious. Don’t know if it’s fun … don’t know much about anything.”
“[But] it was a shock to see … I found out when the rest of the world did,” she added.
As for her wedding ring, which she previously suspected Jax sold, Brittany shared that she still didn’t have it.
“I don’t think it’s sold, but no … I don’t really want it. I don’t want it for myself. I want it to keep for Cruz or, you know, something for him in the future,” she explained.
Also on the podcast, Brittany revealed that Lala and Zack are currently in a good place.
“They get along,” she confirmed. “You know, they are getting to know each other more, especially now that Lala is full-time on The Valley.”
