Rosie DiMare reacted to a rumor claiming she had an affair with a basketball coach after a series of accusations were made against her on Sunday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
After Kelsey Swanson detailed a series of rumors about Rosie on the show, Rosie denied having met the man, signaling the fact that there was never any proof, as Kelsey doubled down on her claim against her, pointing out that she knew people who worked with Rosie and hinting that she would bring proof of the alleged affair to the upcoming reunion.
“When I was on TV, there was a lot of rumors all the time about things, like there was bloopers of me on YouTube. People would say this, or people would say that, or people would be attacking the outfit I wore. God forbid I wore the same color two days in a row. I was used to it. I really didn’t think anything of it. I did think it was a little weird cuz it seemed to grow legs,” Rosie explained on the May 24 episode of the RHORI: After Show. “[But] the reality is I never even met this guy.”
According to Rosie, no photos or videos of her with the coach have been revealed — even four years after the rumor first surfaced.
“I’ve had to reach out to his team like literally five or six times, being like, ‘Can you just release a statement, just to admit … we’ve never met?'” she shared.
And when it comes to Rosie’s pushing of the rumor, Rosie confirmed she’d told her castmate it wasn’t true.
“I’m telling you that I haven’t had an affair with him, and now it’s, ‘Well, then you must have gotten paid hush money and signed an NDA.’ Like, what the actual f*ck? She can’t just let it go,” she explained. “There’s no smoking gun. It’s been four years. There’s no proof of it, so can we just let it go?”
“There was also that rumor that I had an affair with a gay man that worked at the station with me,” Rosie continued. “He was gay before I was born and yet somehow that was also a rumor … I literally told everyone that I bled out of my a**hole and that’s why I left NBC10. You don’t think I would admit to having a weird little affair with some old guy? … That’s not why I got ‘fired,’ because I worked there for a year and a half after that. And I also have the paperwork to show that I didn’t get fired. So it’s like, I can never win, and it’s exhausting.”
In her own segment, Kelsey again said, “[Rosie] had an affair with the coach.”
“There was an ultimatum. The guy went away to a different state to work a different job, and Rosie pretends like she’s never met that man,” she added.
Although Kesley admitted she wasn’t “in their room” when things were happening, she noted that her absence didn’t mean the rumor of an affair was “not true.”
“Fortunately for me, I know people that worked with her. So stay tuned for the reunion,” she warned.
Also on the RHORI: After Show, other members of the cast, including Liz McGraw, Ashley Iaconetti, Jo-Ellen Tiberi, and Alicia Carmody, weighed in, with Liz admitting that she wasn’t sure if the affair rumor was true or not.
“Is it true? I don’t know … [But] even if it were true, I wouldn’t give a sh*t. It wouldn’t change how I thought about her,” Liz noted.
Then, after Ashley admitted to hearing the rumor from friends, Jo-Ellen suspected they would never know the truth.
“There’s no proof. We’re never gonna find out. Rosie’s never gonna admit and the coach lives in a f*cking nother state,” she reasoned.
“[And if Rosie] did, I would laugh.. but who gives a f*ck?'” Alicia added.
The Real Housewives of Rhode Island season one airs Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo.
