McBee Dynasty star Steven McBee Jr. opened up about his breakup from Allie Eklund in a new interview.

Additionally, he spoke about his father, Steven McBee Sr.’s, experience in prison.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Steven admitted he has had no contact with Allie since their public split last month.

“I sent all of her stuff back, but no communication,” he shared.

And in a separate conversation with People, Steven noted therapy and self-reflection have aided him in understanding how he reacts to situations that are emotionally charged.

“There’s a moment where you find out information, and then there’s your reaction,” he said. “In that moment, if you can pause and take a breather and just give yourself –  for me, it’s literally 20 minutes.”

“If I have 20 minutes of an emotional roller coaster and I come back to the situation 20 minutes later, I’m levelheaded, I’m logical, I’m rational again,” he continued. “I’m over that spike of emotion.”

While Steven had discussed marrying Allie and living with her on the show, he revealed he is now focused on ways to slow down when he feels overwhelmed.

“I definitely put my phone down,” he shared. “I do not have my phone in hand, and I give myself that 20 minutes to come back to the situation whenever I have a clearer head, I’m calm, I’m rational, and I can think through a situation and handle it the way that I should handle it.”

While season three of his show is beginning to air, he noted it will be “bittersweet” to watch the episodes back.

“I had a great relationship that’s going to play out in this season,” he noted. “I thought the world of the girl I was dating and thought that things were going to go certainly a different direction than they have over the last few months.”

Steven also shared there’s “a lot of self-reflection and learning lessons that can be taken from this season.”

“That’s what I plan on doing: looking back, being grateful for the time that I had in that relationship and trying to take the learning lessons from that relationship into my future, my next relationship, whatever it may be,” he added.

Steven also addressed if their family is seeking a presidential pardon for their father.

“We’re just focused on our businesses and what we have in front of us, as far as what’s actually happening,” he explained. “I don’t want to bet on blue sky. I don’t want to bet on things that could or couldn’t happen.”

“We’re just putting our heads down, grinding and working through things as if nothing is going to happen,” he elaborated. “I think that’s the best way to work through this. If that happened, then great. But we don’t expect it, and we’re working through it either way.”

Steven’s brother, Cole, also addressed how their dad is doing behind bars.

“He’s doing as good as he can be for the circumstances,” Cole claimed. “He’s a very optimistic person, so he’s staying positive. He’s trying to take this situation — we all are — and we’re learning from it as much as we can. We’re trying to grow from it and try and do better from everything here forward.”

Cole also divulged that he speaks to his father “once every couple weeks” and that they try to “get up there and see him.”

“The last time I spoke to him, it was probably a week and a half ago,” Steven noted. “…He’s been there for six or seven months now, and the man is only concerned with my well-being and how I’m doing emotionally with everything I’ve got going on. That’s his whole entire world, wondering how I’m doing as he’s sitting in prison. He’s one heck of a father.”
