As Love Island USA season eight came to a close, contestants Bryce Dettloff and Trinity Tatum opened up about their future together after the villa.

Bryce, 30, and Trinity, 22, won season eight of the hit Peacock show on Sunday, July 12, as the pair ended up taking home the $100,000 prize.

“I’m really glad we got to this point,” Trinity said to Bryce while the couple enjoyed a picturesque dinner. “You were very patient with me. You’ve never once invalidated my feelings. I honestly feel like you’ve done everything right. Everything you’ve done was to make me feel comfortable.”

“We’ve had the ups and downs,” Bryce replied. “But I feel like we’ve been able to overcome anything that comes our way.”

He added that anytime he thinks about “any of those things,” it “literally makes him so happy” and gives him butterflies.

“I genuinely feel the same,” Trinity agreed.

Both of them also gave props to their mothers for aiding in helping to forge their connection.

“My mom had to raise two kids by herself,” Bryce stated, while adding that Trinity’s mom had similar circumstances. “I feel like that’s something personality-wise. That’s probably why you and I … there’s a lot of trust.”

While planning for life outside of the villa, Bryce told Trinity to come to Los Angeles and stay as long as she wants.

Bryce also shared that he wants to go to Virginia, where Trinity grew up, and spend some time there.

“I’m just so overwhelmed,” Trinity revealed after winning. “I never would’ve expected in a million years that I’d be in this position right now. … I’m grateful that he chose me to be his partner, inside of here and outside.”

“I do love you so much,” Bryce told her. “Every day feels so special with you, and I can’t wait for life outside of this. I’m just so happy to be with you.”

Meanwhile, Summer House star Ciara Miller got emotional while talking about Melanie Moreno as she hosted the July 11 episode of Love Island USA: Aftersun, amid Melanie’s family disapproving of her relationship with Sincere Rhea.

The couples’ win came fresh on the heels of Summer House star Ciara Miller, who hosts Love Island USA: Aftersun, getting emotional about contestant Melanie Moreno‘s family not approving of her connection with Sincere Rhea.

“I was in tears when it came to her mom speaking life into her. I’m having chills right now,” Ciara shared. “Like, to say that your heart is sacred and to not let a man steal your essence … Oh, my God, I will rewatch that scene forever and ever. I hope I can breathe those same words into my daughter one day.”

“It’s really hard. It’s really hard dating sometimes,” the reality starlet continued. “I don’t know why I’m crying. It’s so hard dating. I feel like you get ripped apart for everything when you’re a girl in your 20s, and you’re trying to figure it out. I feel like I’ve been in Melanie’s position so many instances in my life where you’re like, ‘But I like him.’ And it feels like an uphill battle sometimes. Or you’re working against gravity so hard.”

As fans of Summer House know, Ciara went through her own tough times during Scamanda, where her friend Amanda Batula started dating Ciara’s ex, West Wilson, behind Ciara’s back.

“But for some people who can’t really talk to their parents about it, it’s so nice to have them ground you in a situation that sometimes you’re unsure about,” Ciara elaborated on Melanie’s issues. “To just remind you who you are – and that’s where you feel like these female friendships are so important. I just thought it was such a beautiful moment. I’m crying now, but I was crying with Melanie and her mom while I was watching it.”
