In a resurfaced video, Kenya Moore seemingly confirmed Shamea Morton‘s claim that Porsha Williams didn’t want Shamea to join Real Housewives of Atlanta. According to Kenya, Porsha wanted Shamea to “stay down there” so Porsha could be “Queen.”
In the new season, Shamea hinted that Porsha didn’t really support her casting on RHOA despite their decades-long friendship. Last year, the co-stars had a falling out that they never recovered from. In a recent episode, Shamea claimed that Porsha’s mom tried to sleep with Shamea’s dad. Porsha then alleged that Shamea’s mom once slept with Shamea’s uncle.
“I never felt that Porsha was supportive of [Shamea] being on Housewives,” said Kenya in a past video shared by @southerntea5555 on X. “They had asked Shamea to be on Housewives as a Housewife years ago.”
Kenya said she wasn’t sure why Shamea didn’t join at the time.
“I remember a specific conversation being filmed where Shamea brought up something, maybe it was her wedding, maybe it was Porsha not being supportive of her,” Kenya recalled. “But I remember Porsha saying something to the effect of, ‘Why are you doing this? Why are you over here? … Do you need the money that bad?’ And I think Shamea was shocked.”
“The gist of the conversation was, ‘Can’t you just let me have this, and you go over and do what you need to do? But this is my platform. You need to go and either be my support system or go away,'” she added. “I just remember thinking, is that a friendship or a relationship of convenience? Because [in] a friendship, you cheer your friends on no matter what.”
According to Kenya, if someone shows even a “hint” of not wanting you to climb the ladder, then “they are not your friend.”
“What I see [with Porsha] is jealousy,” said Kenya. “What I see is somebody putting their foot on somebody’s neck and saying, ‘You stay down there. I want to be the queen of this.'”
New episodes of Real Housewives of Atlanta air Sunday nights on Bravo.
