Ariana Biermann shared where she stands with Riley Burruss after their argument on Next Gen NYC. Meanwhile, Riley expressed that Ariana didn’t meet her “criteria” as a friend during Riley’s controversial scene with Georgia McCann, as Gia Giudice shared her thoughts.
In the latest episode, Riley accused Georgia of doing ketamine. Georgia then questioned why she would say that, and Riley later told her to shut up before she “slap[s] this piece of pizza on your face.” In a different scene at Ariana’s apartment, Riley suggested that Ariana should have stepped in earlier to defend her as a friend.
On the Next Gen NYC After Show, Ariana shared where she now stands with Riley.
“Riley is one of my absolute best friends. You know how much I literally adore this woman and love her,” she said. “This year, we’re definitely navigating our friendship.”
“I really thought she was going to come over [to my apartment] and be like, ‘Thank you for having my back,’ not, ‘You’re the reason why all of that happened,'” said Ariana.
In Riley’s own interview, she said, “I wish [Ariana] would have stepped in earlier. I have friends who step in as soon as they see someone disrespecting me. Ariana waits until after they’ve already done it, said it several times, and then once she sees me about to say something really offensive, that’s when she wants to step in, and now I look crazy.”
Back in the interview with Ariana, Gia stated that Ariana was there for Riley, but Riley “didn’t see it.”
“I didn’t want to keep adding fuel to the fire,” Ariana added. “I wasn’t going to yell at Georgia. I didn’t know why we were yelling at Georgia. … I still don’t know why we were yelling at Georgia. … We have different ideas of support. I don’t really know, which I’m still learning to this day, how to be the most supportive friend to her.”
In Riley’s interview, the star expressed, “I don’t really know what I need from her. I think I’m growing and figuring out what I need as a human being. So I really don’t even know what I need, but I know it’s not that. I have people who definitely fulfill me in my life, and I want her to be a part of that life, but it’s hard when she’s not meeting that criteria.”
Ariana separately shared, “[Riley] always says to me, ‘Why didn’t you call me all the time?’ And I’m like, ‘Well, maybe that’s on me. But sometimes I did, or I would text you.’ She’s a terrible texter, which I am too. So I do understand. She doesn’t respond for three days on end.”
Riley said they were also in “different phases” during the season, as Riley was in a relationship while Ariana was single.
“I think she expected me to like be a city girl with her,” she said. “It’s like, I am not in that mode, which I feel bad about because I know when you’re freshly single, you want to have that friend that will go out with you. … We’re trying to relearn this version of us, and it’s pretty hard.”
At one point, Gia stated, “Sometimes with Riley, and it’s just evident, she expects everybody to respect her boundaries and what she needs, and sometimes, she doesn’t always do the same.”
According to Ariana, she felt at times that “everything I do is never enough.”
