Janet Caperna released an odd statement on her Instagram Story after Wednesday’s finale episode of The Valley saw her tossing a drink at Danny Booko.
As she was flooded with backlash from fans who accused her of assaulting and bullying Danny, 42, and pulled Bravo executive Andy Cohen, 58, into the discussion, Janet, 36, confirmed via a Google Search that what she did was, in fact, a crime.
“Yes, throwing a drink at someone is illegal and can be charged as assault or battery. Even though it leaves no lasting injury, the law treats unwanted, offensive liquid contact as a crime,” her post explained.
It also provided a series of “legal definitions,” including “Assault: Threatening or putting someone in fear of unwanted contact. Throwing the cup or winding up to splash someone qualifies,” “Battery: The actual physical touching. When the liquid hits the person, it becomes offensive physical contact,” and, “No Injury Needed: Charges apply even if the victim is completely unharmed or dry a moment later.”
Then, in a personal addition in which she seemingly gave a nod to Danny’s unwanted touching of Jasmine Goode, 38, and Melissa Marie, which she previously described as a sexual assault, Janet wrote, “Yes, throwing a drink and cup is assault/battery … I encourage people to use correct legal terms … And you won’t catch me acting like the real problem is other people using the correct terms when they talk about my actions.”
On Instagram, after Hayu Social shared a clip of Janet’s drink toss, its page was flooded with backlash against Janet.

“Janet throwing her drink and then her cup was completely unacceptable. There is no excuse for that behavior. If Danny had done the same thing to Janet, viewers would rightly be demanding accountability. The standard should be the same regardless of who does it,” one person wrote, adding that all Janet had brought to The Valley was “hostility, bullying, double standards, and manufactured conflict.”
Another person said they were sick of the “Danny hate train” and “bullying.”
“Danny was just minding his business, but they came to bully him. Again,” someone else agreed.
Others pointed out that Janet’s behavior qualified as “assault,” as she admitted, and they tagged Andy.
“Why is assault not being addressed?” one person wondered.
Some even said that “Janet, [Jason Caperna], and [Lala Kent] ruined [the] show,” and they requested that Bravo fire Janet ahead of the series’ potential fourth season.
“Janet needs to get the boot,” someone demanded.
The Valley season three reunion begins Wednesday, August 5, at 8/7c on Bravo.
