Kelly Dodd and her husband, Rick Leventhal, are suing her brand manager.
After allegedly losing out on partnerships and paydays from companies that sent her swag in hopes of teaming up, the 50-year-old Real Housewives of Orange County alum and Rick, 66, ran to small claims court and filed a $12,500 lawsuit against a woman named Lacey Kogan.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Kelly hired Lacey, who is based out of Florida, to act as her brand manager “to solicit deals with companies that paid Kelly to share their products on her social media for monthly payments and commissions.”
As part of the gig, Lacey was required to manage Kelly’s ShopMy account, where companies would ship Kelly goods and pay her to promote them. In turn, Kelly agreed to pay Lacey 20 percent of her partnership fees, 20 percent of the value of the items received, and 20 percent of any earned commission from her sales. However, Kelly recently discovered that Lacey had “more than 500 products sent to herself in Boca Raton, either in Kelly’s name or her own, with a total value exceeding $42,000.”
As noted in her court documents, this was done with her permission and violated the terms of their agreement. And, because she never received the items sent to Lacey’s home, Kelly was stripped of the opportunity to make money.
Amongst Kelly’s findings were 254 orders with 523 products, including clothing, beauty products, and housewares.
A court hearing on the matter has been set for September.
In addition to suing her brand manager, Kelly is also in the midst of a revenge porn case, which was filed against her earlier this year.
“[The allegations are] complete and utter bullsh*t,” Kelly said of the allegations on a June episode of SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live. “I’m not pleading guilty. And I know my lawyer said these charges will be dismissed.”
“This is so crazy how this bullsh*t is, like, happening to me, like, in the weirdest way. Like, I don’t get it. I don’t understand it. Like, I just, I feel like I have a black cloud over me,” she added.
