Prosecutors dropped the domestic violence charges against Annemarie Wiley’s husband, Marcellus Wiley, amid her allegations. Marcellus then reacted, accusing her of “deception” as he called out the alleged “Real House Lies of Annemarie.”
Recently, a report surfaced that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star called the police after claiming there was a physical incident with her husband in a hotel room in Florida. The star told the authorities that he threatened her life and poked her cheek. Marcellus, a former NFL player, was arrested, though he denied the allegations. Annemarie requested a restraining order and filed for divorce, alleging that he was violent during their marriage.
According to TMZ, the criminal charges against Marcellus have been dropped. The outlet obtained court docs showing that Orange County prosecutors informed the court that they wouldn’t be moving forward with the case.
Per the filing, prosecutors decided not to file the charges against him because the “testimonial evidence received is not corroborated by any physical or other evidence and is therefore insufficient to obtain a conviction.”
In an August 10 Instagram post, Marcellus shared TMZ’s headline announcing the news.
“The illusion is OVER,” he wrote in the caption. “No more BS. No more deception. Just FACTS & EVIDENCE. The State of Florida declined to file charges & Dismissed the Case!”
Marcellus shared the quote about how “‘Testimonial Evidence Received is Not Corroborated by any Physical or Other Evidence.'”
“If the State found her allegations UNCORROBORATED by any physical or other evidence, and my own daughter says she wasn’t telling the truth, then the question is unavoidable: Why should ANYTHING ELSE she alleges be believed? (It shouldn’t 💯),” he continued. “Don’t let ONE MONTH of allegations erase 14 YEARS of reality.”
“Welcome to the Real House Lies of Annemarie,” he went on, adding a Pinocchio emoji. “Believe real victims. Protect real victims. But remember: FALSE ALLEGATIONS HAVE REAL VICTIMS TOO. My name and character were attacked publicly. I’ll defend them publicly—with the TRUTH. LIES run sprints. TRUTH runs marathons.”
After news of the arrest broke, Annemarie wrote in an Instagram post that she was “secretly walking on eggshells for 14 years.”
