Victoria Gotti’s son, Carmine Agnello, has recently been involved in a series of legal problems.
In April, he was sentenced to 15 months behind bars after pleading guilty to fraudulently getting $1.1 million in COVID-relief funds. Then, in June, he was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
Before getting sentenced, Carmine tried using Victoria’s health issues to evade prison time, as he was going to be donating a kidney to her.
Yesterday, TMZ reported that Carmine began his prison sentence before being able to assist his ailing mother.
According to the outlet, which spoke to the Bureau of Prisons, Carmine turned himself in on Monday, and he is now being kept at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fairton located in Fairton, New Jersey.
A judge overseeing the case had given Carmine until August 10 to donate his kidney, and he stated that if he had done so by then, his date to surrender to jail would be pushed back to September 18.
However, Victoria was unable to get medically cleared to have the surgery due to an infection she got, and thus this did not happen.
While Carmine’s attorney tried to ask for a third extension in a filing on Monday, the judge denied it and postponed his time to report to prison by a mere two hours.
Insiders who spoke out insisted Carmine wanted to help his mother and was not trying to get out of serving his time.
Early this morning, TMZ also reported that Carmine’s release date was already pushed up. While he was initially due to serve 15 months behind bars, he is now set to get out of jail on September 2, 2027, which is roughly 13 months in the slammer. Victoria and her family have not made any public comments about Carmine reporting to jail or about her not getting the kidney she needed.
