Georgianna Aubin opened up about what led her sister, Vanderpump Rules alum Stassi Schroeder, to pay for both her wedding to now-ex-husband Gary Guth and their divorce on a podcast on Thursday.
She also explained how Kristen Doute, 43, and Katie Maloney, 40, were involved, and shaded Stassi, 38, for holding her generosity against her on Vanderpump Villa, Georgianna, 31, who stars alongside Stassi on House of Stassi, detailed Stassi’s financial help.
“I will set the record straight here because how infuriating was this? She’s right. But the wedding was a gift. It was literally a gift, and then,” Georgianna explained on the August 20 episode of The Reality Of Reality Podcast.
According to Georgianna, she had her whole wedding planned. However, once Stassi found out that she would be marrying Gary in the forest, she offered to throw her a dream wedding.
“She comes in with her friends because I invited Kristen and Katie at the time, and she’s like, ‘There’s no way you’re gonna be bringing my friends. We’re not doing this in the woods. Like, Georgie, I’m gonna give you your dream wedding. Where do you want to be?’” Georgianna recalled. “And I was like, ‘No. You’re crazy. I’m not gonna take that from you. She’s like, ‘No. It’s a gift. This will be my gift to you. Like, I want to give you the most perfect wedding. You’re so in love. Let me do this.’ She writes me a check. She goes, ‘I love you so much. This is for you. Let me do this for you.’ … She goes, ‘I have plenty of money, so let me just do this.’”
Then, ahead of filming on Vanderpump Villa, after her marriage to Gary came to an end, Stassi offered to pay for her divorce.
“I did all the paperwork, and she had said, ‘You need to get a divorce.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah. No, I know.’ She goes, ‘I’ll pay for it. At this point, I’ll pay for it.’ Because I was still on the fence. I was on the fence for like two and a half years. I didn’t know if I wanted to do that. And so finally she’s like, ‘Okay, get a divorce. I’ll pay for it,’” Georgianna revealed.
But Georgianna turned her offer down, telling Stassi, “No, you’re not gonna pay for it. I got it. I’ll do it. I’ll rip the Band-Aid off,” before paying for it herself.
“Fast forward to like a week before Villa and we’re hanging out, and she goes, ‘Georgie, did you ever get the divorce?’ I’m like, ‘Yes. I did get my divorce,'” she continued. “She goes, ‘Oh, well, I told you I’d pay for it so let me send you money.’”
Although Georgianna told Stassi the divorce was already paid for, Stassi sent her money anyway.
“She goes, ‘I’m a woman of my word, and I will pay for it.’ So then she sends me money. I guess I just let it sit there in my Venmo account and then two days later holds it over me at Villa,” she shared.
