Caroline Manzo is denying any claims of calling the ‘Feds’ on Teresa Giudice before their falling out on Real Housewives of New Jersey – and shared the real reason why the cast fell apart.
In season 1, Caroline had a great relationship with her sister Dina Manzo and Teresa. But unfortunately, both relationships were fractured as the show went on. In a past season, Teresa and her husband Joe Giudice went to prison after pleading guilty to bank fraud.
On Legally Goff, Caroline firmly denied Teresa’s past suspicions that Caroline called the ‘Feds’ on her which ultimately led to her and her then husband Joe being convicted of fraud charges.
“What makes me sad is when she would say Caroline called the Feds on me. My God. I would never in a million years do something like that,” shared Caroline. “You have to be a special kind of animal to do something like that… She’s got young children plus I knew nothing about her finances or anything.”
It has since been revealed that Teresa’s decision to spend a ton of cash on the show is what caught the eye of someone working in the IRS, ultimately triggering the investigation that led to the Giudices’ convictions.
Caroline then recalled her past friendship with Teresa.
“Anything I ever did to Teresa was in response of something she did to me… I don’t look for trouble. I answer it if I have to. If I’m backed against a wall, I’ll answer it. More often, no. … I adored her. … [We had] belly laughs.”
Caroline also shared what she misses.
“I miss season one,” she said, via @housewivesfromahousewife on Instagram. “Season one was phenomenal. It was magic. It was lightning in a bottle. I miss season one because that’s when we all loved each other, and we all cared about each other.”
She revealed that “fame” destroyed it.
“That [was] before fame — which is the most dangerous thing in the world — got in the way,” said Caroline. “[People] start drinking the Kool-Aid. … You can’t drink the Kool-Aid. It’s dangerous.”
On the same podcast, Caroline shared that viewers don’t know the real reason she and her sister Dina stopped speaking.
“They don’t know all about it. They only assume, and, you know, it all gets lost in translation,” said Caroline. “I’m a very private person, and that’s something I’ve never spoken about … and I have no intention of speaking about it.”
“I don’t know the ‘whys’ of things, and we’re two very different people. She needs to preserve her sanity, and I need to preserve mine. And just because you have a sibling doesn’t mean that you’re bonded together for life,” she went on. “Sometimes we’re just very different people. … There’s a lot of things I miss about her, and there’s a lot of things that, you know, we’ve hurt each other.”
