According to Sai de Silva, there’s no I in ‘Housewives.’
The Real Housewives of New York star recently addressed her divorce from David Craig, claimed Bravo fans “struggle with change,” and revealed whether she blames Brynn Whitfield for the fan blowback over the reboot.
Many fans have criticized the reboot of RHONY, pointing out that it’s already gotten its own reboot for the upcoming season after a cast shakeup. Brynn, who was once considered a favorite, quit the show last after last season, though Carole Radziwill (the first ‘OG’ star since 2021) came back.
On SiriusXM’s It’s Me, Tinx, Sai addressed her divorce.
“I know it’s very surprising to a lot of people, but this is my personal life and something that I’ve kind of been dealing with on my own,” she said. “There are some conversations that I can’t get through without crying. You know, it was just … very, very hard.”
“And there were a lot of things that happened that were real-life, in-the-moment moments and the cameras were up,” she added. “And I think people are going to understand me a little bit more after they watch it.”
Later on, Sai was asked if she blames Brynn for the blowback from fans over the last two seasons of RHONY.
“No,” she said. “We’re a team. There is no I in Housewives. I know some Housewives feel like they are the show. We were the newbies. Bravo fans are really — they struggle with change.”
“I don’t even want to say give us a chance,” she said. “I just want to say watch this s**t and then circle back.”
In a panel shared by @bravo_after_thoughts_ on Instagram, Sai said the last year was “tough,” but it was “my story” and “my life.”
Back in July, Sai was asked what it was like to get to know Radziwill in the new season.
“It was tough in the sense of, I don’t know her,” Sai explained on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio. “Like I really knew nothing about Carole. And I’m going to be very honest. I had no idea she was a journalist. I had no idea about her backstory, which there’s a lot of story there that I had no clue [about]. But she has a really great side to her. And I love that she’s super intelligent and she’s a little quirky in a way. So, you know, nothing but love for Carole, but you’ll see what happens.”
