Bronwyn Newport is opening up about the end of her marriage to Todd Bradley in a just-released sneak peek at the upcoming seventh season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
Just under a year after confirming her separation from Todd, 66, whom she was married to for nine years, Bronwyn, 40, is seen sitting down with her mother, Muzzy, to discuss her future, the final straw in her marriage, and her plans to officially file for divorce.
“You’re not gonna like this, but this is my dark humor: Last year you lost your husband and sold your house, and this year, I lost mine and sold mine, Muzzy,” Bronwyn tells her mom in a clip shared by Bravo on September 9.
“Monkey see, monkey do,” Muzy replies.
Although Bronwyn enjoyed a months-long romance with model Brandon Good, 32, earlier this year, she tells her mother, “I don’t even know what I want.”
“You know, I have you. Lucky me. And I have Gweny and Logan,” she continues.
Then, after sharing plans to buy a home for her daughter, which she will “transfer to her when she’s ready,” Bronwyn admits that Gwen’s relationship with her stepfather is “really complicated.”
“I know she worries about Todd and I want them to stay close,” Bronwyn shares.
When the scene with her mom was shot, Bronwyn confirmed that she hadn’t seen Todd since January, nor had she filed for divorce.
“We haven’t filed. I would kind of like to start that process, but it still feels very raw for me, and I know that sounds stupid cuz I’m the one driving this,” she admits.
Meanwhile, in a confessional, Bronwyn tells the cameras, “There has absolutely been a handful of times that I should’ve said, ‘This is the end,’” as flashback moments feature her talking about “infidelity,” cheating rumors, and feeling “not good enough.”
As for the final straw, that happened amid Bronwyn’s 40th birthday.
“For me, the final straw, I was gonna have a big 40th birthday. Maybe he would remember. No. Ultimately, I realized I’d been by myself in that marriage for a long time, and I had to get myself out,” she tells Muzzy.
“I cry almost every time he and I hang up the phone because I don’t think everybody else understands that there’s a period of time with Todd that I really loved. We’re just not in that period of time anymore,” she goes on.
Then, after Muzzy wonders, “So you’re done-done?,” Bronwyn confirms, “I think I have to be.”
In December of last year, in a statement to PEOPLE, a rep for Bronwyn and Todd revealed that they had separated.
“This was a mutual decision made with care and respect for one another. They ask for privacy during this time,” the rep stated.
Around the same time, an insider told Page Six that the Bravo couple was “headed for divorce.”
