Bravo’s In The City, which was a spinoff of their hit show Summer House, finished airing in July.
On the show, we saw some familiar faces and met some new ones, including Kenny Martin and his girlfriend, Whitney Fransway.
Yesterday, it was revealed that the pair got engaged after Kenny proposed in Italy.
According to PEOPLE, the pair got engaged on Saturday, September, 19, in Anacapri, Italy. The proposal went down at Hotel Caesar Augustus.
“I was in complete shock, shaking and crying, but it was the easiest ‘yes’ for me,” Whitney, 35, shared. “I feel so seen and supported with Kenny.”
Prior to asking, Kenny, 42, ended up having a “really special dinner” with Whitney’s parents. He told Whitney he was going on a business trip, but he really was going to seek her parents’ blessing to move forward with the proposal.
“It felt scandalous, but I’m so glad I did that in person,” Kenny said. “We were all crying.”
As for why Kenny picked the Hotel Caesar Augustus as the spot to pop the question, he noted they had been there last year for Whitney’s birthday and had dinner. She had described the night as the “most romantic date” she had ever been on, and thus Kenny decided that would be the spot to ask for her hand in marriage.
To get her there, Kenny ended up staging a fake partnership with the hotel, as he had his manager act like he was getting a brand deal with them.
He ended up renting out the same dining area they had been at.
“I wanted to go back to that special place, but added flowers and candles and a violinist to really just make it magical for her,” Kenny claimed. “She deserved something so perfect.”
Once they arrived, Whitney “almost lost it,” and when he got down on one knee, she was “completely surprised.”
“It honestly took me a moment to even process what was happening, and I couldn’t stop crying,” Whitney revealed. “With the view and the flowers and the violin, it felt straight out of a storybook. I’m still pinching myself.”
“It’s the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen,” she exclaimed. “I can’t stop staring at it.”
The duo is now jetting off to Spain to celebrate their engagement with their friends.
“It was so emotional for both of us, and we’ve been in a bubble soaking it all in the last few days,” Whitney stated. “We are headed to Spain now to celebrate with some of my girlfriends. I couldn’t be more excited. It still feels surreal.”
