Ariana Madix called out Love Island Australia on Instagram over the weekend after the series’ social media account shared a clip promoting its upcoming eighth season.
After the show posted a clip of her and its host, Sophie Monk, 46, in which the 41-year-old Vanderpump Rules alum was seen wishing the 10 new contestants luck, Ariana, who has been hosting Love Island USA since season six in 2024, revealed that she did not approve of the snippet.
“Good luck, Australia. Try not to break anything,” Ariana said as the clip began, as seen in a post from Love Island Australia on October 4.

Following the sharing of the clip, Ariana reacted in a comment.
“They didn’t tell me AT ALL that the clip I shot would be used with AI. Something I am firmly against. Wtf guys [Love Island Australia]?” she asked, as seen in a screenshot shared by Bravo Bravo Bravo Bri on Instagram.

Although it was alleged over the summer, as Love Island USA season eight came to an end, that Ariana would not be returning to the series next season, she seemed to deny the claim in an interview.
“I do [see the rumors]. And obviously I can’t speak yet to what’s going to be happening next season,” Ariana told Us Weekly on August 9. “We did announce already that I will be hosting Love Island Games next year … [But I] can’t say anything that speaks to [plans for season 9].”
She then said she wasn’t sure why the rumors had come about.
“I do wonder about that sometimes. [People on social media have] been saying that every year, and I always wonder where that comes from,” Ariana shared. “I have seen comments online that say there’s some sort of two-year thing and I’ve always wondered where did that [rumor] come from?”
“But you know what? It is really nice because so many of those comments will be so positive in the sense that they’re wondering because they’re hoping that I will be back. So that’s really great,” she continued. “But yeah, nothing’s been said. So I don’t know where they come up with that.”
Ariana then offered some advice to future contestants.
“It sounds cliché, but be your most authentic self,” she recommended. “It is the best way to succeed on the show in any way, shape or form. To succeed with the other Islanders, to find love in the villa and for people [in] the audience to connect with you.”
